Fish Out Of Tourney

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Dave “Devilfish” Ulliott’s tournament is over. Ludvic Geilich reconstructed the hand that did for him for PokerNews. There was a raise and a call when Ulliott was in the big blind and he decided to peel with {6-Clubs}{5-Clubs}. On a flop for {10-Hearts}{10-}{6-Hearts} Ulliott checked, and when his opponent bet 1,000 Ulliott moved all in for 4,000 and was quickly called.

Ulliott saw that he was in big trouble against the {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} of his opponent and the turn {10-} gave his opponent quads to finish him off.

Geilich has slipped even further since we last caught up with him too.

The River Saves Kitai

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Former EPT Berlin winner Davidi Kitai just knocked out a player in the early goings and after seeing the showdown he recapped the action for us.

A player raised to 500 after which Jordan Dimitrov called from Kitai's right. The Belgium pro three-bet to 1,800 and the initial raiser folded after which Dimitrov called.

The flop brought out the {J-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{3-Spades}, Dimitrov check-called 2,500 and the turn was the {7-Clubs}. Dimitrov checked to Kitai again and this time he bet 3,800.

Dimitrov proceeded to move all in for right around 30,000 chips and the man with two WSOP bracelet under his belt tanked for quite a while before making the call.

Dimitrov: {6-Spades}{7-Spades}
Kitai: {A-Clubs}{J-Spades}

Kitai was looking for help to knock Dimitrov out, and the river brought just that. It was the {3-Clubs} that gave Kitai a winning flush and he now sits very comfortable on around 74,000 chips.

Ludovic Geilich, who made the final here last year (and the final table at the UKIPT Isle of Man event last week) has been knocked out by PokerStars Mind Sports Ambassador Jennifer Shahade.

"I kinda turned two pair against him in one pot then rivered two pair against him in another," said Shahade, admitting her good fortune in knocking out the Scottish player. Shahade is over the 40,000 mark.

Soulier Flops Straight, Gets Flushed

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

Four players including Kai Herold and Fabrice Soulier took a flop of {8-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{10-Clubs}. The small blind checked and Herold followed suit, putting the action on Soulier. He came out swinging for 1,025 and found a call from the fourth player. The small blind folded and Herold stuck around.

The trio of players watched on as the {6-Spades} fell on fourth street. Action checked to Soulier for a second time and he continued his aggression with a bet of 2,150. The other player in the hand quickly released his cards while Herold opted to stay the course. The {J-Hearts} came on the river and Herold checked for a third time. Soulier moved out 5,100 and Herold wasted little time dropping out a call.

Soulier showed {Q-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} for a flopped straight to the queen. It was no good, however, as Herold tabled {4-Hearts}{3-Hearts} for a rivered heart flush. Herold scooped the pot and brought his stack to 47,000. Soulier, on the other hand, dropped to 16,000

Jacobson Takes One Down

With Martin Jacobson we've spotted another one of this year's November Niners in the field and after losing some chips early one we just saw him rake in a pot.

The flop was showing {J-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} when the action was checked to Jacobson who opted to check behind. On the turn the {8-Clubs} hit and Jacobson called a bet of 1,750.

The river was the {Q-Clubs} and Jacobson's opponent check-folded to a bet of 3,000.

Kitai Mini Turn Bet

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

David Kitai just made near identical and puzzling to his opponent’s plays in back-to-back hands. First Steven Smith opened the action for 500 and Kitai three-bet him to 1,250. Smith made the call and they went to a flop of {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{k-Spades}. Kitai bet 875 when it was checked to him and got a call. On the turn card {6-Spades} Kitai decided to bet 200, the amount of the big blind at this level. Smith made the call though and they both checked the river card {7-Spades}. Smith showed {4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and that was good as Kitai mucked.

Kitai was back in action on the next hand, again three-betting an opener to and going heads up to a flop of {10-Hearts}{3-Spades}{a-Diamonds}. Kitai bet 850 and got a call to go to the turn {3-Hearts} where once more Kitai bet 200. His opponent grinned which was returned bot he threw in the calling chips. A river {6-Spades} was checked around and Kitai mucked when his opponent turned over his {q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}.

It may not have worked in these two hands but it looks like Kitai is trying to keep his opponents guessing and playing a wide range against him and something must be working as he is sitting with over twice his starting stack.
