Boeree Keeps Climbing

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

We arrived at the table in time to see Team PokerStars Pro Liv Boeree and Vaidas Siriunas heads up with the board reading {9-Spades}{5-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{Q-Spades}. Boeree checked over to Siriunas and he fired at the pot for 2,100. Boeree called and the two watched as the {6-Hearts} finished off the community cards.

Boeree checked once again and Siriunas instantly tapped the table, rolling over {J-Diamonds}{10-Spades} in the process for a pair of jacks. Boeree had that beat, though, with {K-Spades}{J-Hearts}. She was awarded the pot and has now passed the 100k mark.

Kitai Does For Duda

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante
Davidi Kitai
Davidi Kitai

Davidi Kitai’s preflop aggression with a wide range of hands saw Antonin Duda give him minimal respect by getting the last of his stack, (just under 7,000), in the middle before the community cards came in to play. Kitai took a beat before making the call.

Duda turned over {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and was in trouble against the {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} of Kitai. The dealer put out a final {k-Spades}{2-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} board and the better full house of Kitai saw Duda head for the exit.

Haeraets' Flush is No Good

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

On the river of a {6-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{3-Diamonds} board, Bram Haeraets, who made the final table of EPT Barcelona, bet 5,000 only for Guillaume Diaz to raise to 12,000. Haeraets made the call and Diaz showed {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts} for a full house, Haeraets flashing {J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} before sending it into the muck.

Brammer Crippled

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

On the turn of a {3-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{9-Spades}{Q-Spades} board, Chris Brammer bet 10,000 with 17,000 back only for another player to check-raise all in. Brammer made a crying call with {9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}, finding his opponent had hit on the turn with {Q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}. The river was the {2-Hearts} and Brammer was left with just 2,500 left.

Boeree Runs Urli Out the Door

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante
Liv Boeree
Liv Boeree

With the cameras rolling on Team PokerStars Pro Liv Boeree we assumed there was something big going on, and we weren't disappointed.

The board read {3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{A-Diamonds} and Boeree had put her opponent all in, and Alexis Urli ultimately made the call showing {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}. This hand was no good against Boeree's {K-Clubs}{J-Spades} for a rivered straight and she raked in this huge pot.

"He three-bet me preflop, I four-bet and bet, bet, shoved on the board," Boeree quickly recapped the action for us.

Bet Size Announcement Ruling

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

The table was called to Gerardo Gomez’s table where the final board showed {6-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}. There was a pot of 5,500 in the middle and a single blue T5000 chip in front of Gomez. His opponent, Pasquale Braco from Italy, wanted clarification of the bet as he contemplated calling.

Gomez claimed he had said, “Three thousand.” before betting but other players corroborated the fact that he had just said, “Three.” After an initial ruling from the floor that the bet was 5,000 only added to the confusion, clarification was sought. The final ruling was the bet stood at 300, Braco called and when Gomez turned over {j-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} he was bested by the {k-Spades}{9-Clubs}.

Tom Hall wanted further clarification as he felt the bet didn’t make sense given the pot size and the tournament director arrived to confirm the ruling. It is never based on the size of the pot. If there is ever any ambiguity about the size of the bet it is a common TD rule to always take the lowest number.
