Tournament Room

Welcome to Day 3 of EPT London sponsored by PokerStars.com in partnership with The Hippodrome Casino London. There are 127 players returning today from a total number of 675 entrants and it is the Italian player Raffaele Sorrentino who sits on top with 491,400 chips. Two other players have breached the 400k mark with Sebastian Pauli from Germany in second place (419,500) and Spain’s David Cabrera third with (418,500).

Today is the always dramatic bubble day with a min-cash worth £7,750 and they are just 32 eliminations away from that point with 95 places paid. A £2,619,000 prize pool has been generated with the eventual winner walking away with a whopping £499,700.

PokerStars will be represented by Team Pros Johnny Lodden (285,400), Jake Cody (269,400) Liv Boeree (230,300), Bertrand Grospellier (71,900) and Eugene Katchalov (86,100). PokerStars Team Online has Mickey Petersen (141,900) and Marc-Andre Ladouceur (201,400) while Team SportStar Fatima Moreira de Melo is looking for a spin up (56,400).

Cody and Boeree will be looking to win their second EPT Titles to match the achievement of fellow Team PokerStars Pro Victoria Coren Mitchell who was eliminated yesterday, but Kevin MacPhee (277,700) is also nicely placed to make a run at his second title. Other big names that we will be reporting on include Sam Trickett (106,000), Anatoly Filatov (318,400) and Chris Moorman (135,200).

The levels switch to 90 minutes today with the plan to play five of them before we find out who has made it through to Day 4.Those who fail to make it through will have the chance to jump in the High Roller which will also be covered in depth by PokerNews tomorrow.

Stay tuned throughout the day as the PokerNews Live Reporting Team bring you all the drama from another great event from Season 11 of the European Poker Tour. You can also follow the action from the feature table on PokerStars.TV

Ladny Falls to Vamplew

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Jacek Ladny open-shipped all in for about 42,000 from middle position. David Vamplew was the next player to act and he immediately moved all in over the top for 45,700. The rest of the table folded, allowing the cards to be turned on their backs.

Ladny: {A-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Vamplew: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}

Vamplew's ladies were in the lead and they stayed that way through a {4-Spades}{8-Spades}{4-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} run out. Vamplew's queens full of fours put the nail in Ladny's coffin, eliminating him from play early in today's first level.

Steven Watts is among the unlucky ones that will not get paid today as he was just knocked out. Watts was all in before the flop for 46,000 chips and up against Marek Uharcek.

Uharcek: {4-Clubs}{4-Hearts}
Watts: {A-Hearts}{8-Spades}

Watts got up from his seat and sweated the board as it rolled out {2-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{7-Spades}.

"Unreal, I can't even hit one," Watts sighed as he left the tournament room.

Yacoub Reps the River

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Simon Taberham opened the action for 7,000 and faced a three-bet to 15,700 from Dori Yacoub. The blinds got out of the way Taberham checked the amount before putting out the call.

The flop was {q-Spades}{7-Hearts}{j-Spades} which saw both players check but on the turn card {6-Hearts} Taberham led out for 16,000. Yacoub made the call and the river {a-Spades} completed the board. Taberham continued for 20,0000 but the faced a raise to 48,000 from Yacoub. Taberham looked a bit reluctant but he made the call.

Yacoub turned over {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds} and wasn’t surprised he was beat but he was surprised to see the {7-Spades}{7-Clubs} flopped set of his opponent. “What flop. Nice hand, I thought you didn’t have an ace.” Yacoub explained, justifying his river raise. A brave move which has severely hurt his stack and Yacoub sighed, visibly deflated at the result.
