Steven Watts is among the unlucky ones that will not get paid today as he was just knocked out. Watts was all in before the flop for 46,000 chips and up against Marek Uharcek.
Uharcek:
Watts:
Watts got up from his seat and sweated the board as it rolled out .
"Unreal, I can't even hit one," Watts sighed as he left the tournament room.
PokerStars SportStar Fatima Moreira de Melo's been on a tear so far on Day 3 and currently she's sitting on 224,500 chips after busting out Kristoffer Edberg on the secondary featured table.
After unknown preflop action it was Edberg who was at risk for 60,300 chips and the showdown went as following.
Edberg:
Moreira de Melo:
The flop brought and Edberg picked up a flush draw to make things more interesting. On the turn the popped up giving Edberg a straight draw as well, but the river was the knocking the Swede out before the money.
Moreira de Melo started the day with just 40,000 chips but as of right now she's in gerat shape for a very deep run.
Kamal Choraria raised to 8,500 and Ignat Liviu responded with a three-bet to 18,000. Martijn Ardon was next to act and he made the call, after which the action folded to Choraria who moved all in for 62,000.
"All in," Liviu announced and his shove was for a total of 80,500.
"Oh man, can I get a count?" Ardon asked.
The chips were counted out exactly and Ardon said, "I can't believe I'm folding this hand as he finally threw it into the muck."
Choraria:
Liviu:
"I folded jacks for 20 big blinds, what the f***," Ardon said in disgust, but also happy he found a way to avoid running into aces.
The board ran out and Liviu knocked out Choraria while Ardon saved himself a big chunk of chips.
Despite the constant tanking, high numbers of players still in and the general media scrum that makes a player feel like they're about to be afforded their own story in the British tabloid press, the bubble has burst at the first attempt.
Before going hand for hand, Ignat Liviu had moved all in over the top of a raise from Marco Caza, the Canadian making a call.
Liviu was all in for around 70,000 and Caza had the Romanian well-covered.
Liviu:
Caza:
The flop was - blank and unconnected enough that Liviu was now the clear favourite for the hand. The changed nothing and Caza needed one of six outs to knock out the Romanian. The then appeared on the river to an audible groan from the watching crowd. Everyone else is now guaranteed a minimum payout of £7,750.
We arrived at the table in time to find massive action between Team PokerStars Pro Jake Cody and Salman Behbehani. The pot was well over 250,000 with the completed board reading . Cody moved all in for his last 154,000 sending Behbehani into the tank.
After the chips were counted down, Behbehani thought for roughly 30 additional seconds before flinging out three chips, signifying a call. Cody rolled over for two pair of aces and queens, besting Behbehani's . Behbehani's cards were pulled into the muck and Cody scooped the sizable pot, bringing his stack to 552,000.
Willie Tann has live tournament results from right around the time the player was born that just knocked him out. Tann's been around for a very long time and won his first World Series of Poker bracelet in 2005 for $188,335, but he won't add a EPT title to his long list of cashes just yet.
Tann just moved all in for 55,000 from the small blind and Ardon called from the big.
Tann:
Ardon:
The board ran out and Tann hit the rail right after the break.
Benny Spindler opened to 12,000 from under-the-gun and Team PokerStars Pro Liv Boeree made it 30,000 in middle position. It was passed to Ilan Boujenah who four-bet to 65,000 in the big blind. Spindler tanked for a minute before folding and Boeree made the call to see a flop.
Boujenah bet 51,000 and Boeree called to see the on the turn. The Frenchman tanked for a minute before pushing all in and Boeree did some quick calculations before calling off.
Boujenah:
Boeree:
Boujenah had to fade an ace, three or club but the river was the to make Boeree the nut flush and win the pot.
Not too long ago Emil Patel was the shortest stack in the room and one card away from being knocked out by Team PokerStars Pro Bertrand Grospellier. The river bailed Patel out in that coin flip and just now he won another to put himself right back in it.
Patel was all in for 108,000 chips against Allan Andrew Pike and the showdown went as following.
