Davidi Kitai Eliminated in 15th Place (€41,100)

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante
Davidi Kitai
Davidi Kitai

Davidi Kitai just moved all in before the flop and David Peters proceeded to move all in as well to create the following showdown.

Kitai: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}
Peters: {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}

The board ran out {J-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{6-Spades}{K-Diamonds} and while Kitai took the lead on the flop it was Peters who rivered the better hand. After counting down the stacks Kitai was left with 33,000 chips, and on the very next hand he called all in from the big blind when Igor Yaroshevskyy moved all in.

Kitai: {K-Spades}{4-Diamonds}
Yaroshevskyy: {A-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}

The board ran out {10-Spades}{5-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{3-Clubs} and Kitai hit the rail in 15th place.

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Sardor Gaziev
Sardor Gaziev

Right after doubling Simon Higgins with ace-king, Ivan Luca opened for 44,000 from middle position. His neighbor Sardor Gaziev three-bet to 108,000 from the hijack. Action folded back around to Luca who pushed all in. Gaziev thought for some time before calling.

Ivan Luca: {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}
Sardor Gaziev: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}

The window card was the {A-Spades} and Gaziev said "As usual" while getting up from the table. The entire board came {A-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{6-Spades}{J-Spades} and Gaziev moved his 834,000 stack one position to the right. Luca with about 850,000, had his opponent just slightly covered and now plays one of the bigger stacks in the tournament.

Time Pressure Doesn't Help Kitai Figure Carrel Out

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Charles Carrel
Charles Carrel

Davidi Kitai is known for making exceptional calls in tough spots, but just now he did not pull the trigger when Charles Carrel put him all in for his tournament life.

The action started on Sylvain Loosli who raised under the gun to 45,000 and Carrel called from the button after which Kitai and Ivan Luca called from the blinds.

The flop came down {2-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and all four players checked. On the turn the {J-Spades} hit and the action was checked to Carrel who bet 115,000, Kitai was his only caller.

On the river the {7-Clubs} completed the board and Kitai checked to Carrel again. Carrel put forward a big tower of red 25,000 chips and Kitai tanked for about 10 minutes before calling the clock on himself.

As time was running out he asked if Carrel would show if he folded, and the young Brit said he would.

In the end Kitai folded {A-Spades}{10-Spades} face up, and Carrel showed {8-Spades}{6-Spades} for a complete bluff.

"I knew it!" Ludovic Geilich yelled, "I knew he had some sort of blocker spades hand with an eight."

"How can I ever have a bluff there?" Carrel asked Geilich, who went on to explain to say how tough the spot for Kitai was with his hand.

Carrel raked in this huge pot and Kitai dropped down to being one of the shortest stacks.

Steve O'Dwyer
Steve O'Dwyer

After unknown action we just saw Steve O'Dwyer all in for his tournament life before the flop. O'Dwyer was all in for 470,000 chips and up against Daniel Ghionoiu.

Ghionoiu: {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}
O'Dwyer: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}

The flop brought {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{J-Spades} and O'Dwyer took a firm lead with a set of tens. On the turn the {4-Spades} hit, but the river was the {Q-Clubs} and that gave Ghionoiu a winning straight. O'Dwyer was disgusted, shook his head and exited the room in 17th place. The tournament is down to just two-tables of eight players now.
