Hard to Find a Silver Lining

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Max Silver
Max Silver

Max Silver has not had a good day so far. He came into today second in chips overall after topping the Day 1B field but won't last much longer if his Day 2 trend continues.

He tried to bluff Bram Haenraets off a hand, failed, and dropped to 28,000. He opened to 2,600 from the cutoff and called after his Dutch opponent three-bet to 6,200 from the small blind. Both players checked the {9-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop before Haenraets led for 5,000 on the {10-Spades} turn. Silver called and then bet 9,600 when checked to on the {7-Clubs} river. Haenraets tanked for a couple of minutes and then called with the style of a man who was afraid he was going to talk himself out of it.

Silver opened {q-Spades}{j-Clubs} for queen high, losing out to Haenraets' {5-Spades}{5-Spades}.

David Vamplew, a good friend of Silver's, has had a better day at the same table and amassed a 160,000 stack. Meanwhile, on an adjacent table, Sam Chartier's stack has risen to 280,000.
