Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Connor Drinan
Connor Drinan

With the action folding around to Connor Drinan on the button, he opted to move all in for his remaining 259,000 in chips. Paul Dewey was in the small blind and had a good think about his decision before opting to fold. As soon as he did, Ivan Soshnikov made the quick call from te big blind and the cards were tabled.

Drinan: {A-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Soshnikov: {3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}

The board ran out {3-Hearts}{4-Spades}{6-Hearts}{9-Spades}{2-Diamonds} to see Soshnikov improve to a set of threes on the flop securing him the hand.

Newey Doubles Through Jacobson

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Paul Newey raised to 50,000 from under the gun and Vladimir Troyanovskiy called out of the big blind to see the flop of {8-Hearts} {10-Spades} {3-Hearts}. The Russian checked and then folded to the all in of Newey.

The very next hand, Ivan Soshnikov raised to 40,000 from under the gun, Martin Jacobson called from one seat over and Troyanovskiy threw in the extra chips out of the small blind. Newey moved all in for the second hand in a row and Soshnikov folded. Jacobson asked for a count and it was 522,000 to call in total. The Swede then moved all in himself and Troyanovskiy folded.

Newey: {9-Diamonds} {9-Spades}
Jacobson: {7-Diamonds} {7-Clubs}

After the {8-Diamonds} {8-Clubs} {3-Hearts} flop, Soshnikov laughed and said that he had folded a pair of eights. Neither the {K-Clubs} turn nor the {Q-Spades} river changed anything and the 2014 World Series of Poker Main Event champion is now the short stack.

Kanit Tanks

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Mustapha Kanit won a rather sizable pot from Juha Helppi not too long ago. In that pot Kanit made a call with what would end up third pair and a flush draw on the turn, only to see the river go check check. Kanit's {10-}{8-Diamonds} turned out to be the best hand as Helppi mucked.

Just now the two clashed again. Kanit opened to 55,000 from the small blind and Helppi in the big blind made the call. Kanit made a 65,000 c-bet on {6-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} and Helppi raised it up to 150,000. Kanit called, and check called another 200,000 on the {K-Diamonds} turn.

The river came the {7-Hearts} and with 670,000 behind Kanit checked. Helppi, with a stack of 648,000 moved 300,000 forward. Kanit tanked for several minutes, before eventually folding with a big sigh.

Dinner Break

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

The 10 remaining players are on their 75-minute dinner break. After the break, either four more levels will be played or down to the tournament reaching its final seven players. In the schedule it wat noted that the tournament would play either 10 levels or down to eight, but as there are only seven spots paid it was decided to play down to that number.

While you wait, check out just how amazing Prague is in the winter time:

Chidwick Wins from Helppi

Level 15 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Stephen Chidwick opened to 50,000 under the gun and saw Juha Helppi three bet to 162,000 from the small blind. Chidwick shoved all in and Helppi folded.

The next hand saw Helppi open the button for 50,000 and Chidwick call in the big blind. Chidwick check called a bet of 50,000 on {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} and both players checked the {7-Hearts} on the turn. Chidwick then lead for 145,000 on the {8-Hearts} river. Helppi made the call, but mucked with a bit of a scornful laugh after Chidwick showed {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}.

Jacobson Triples

Level 15 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

The action started with Vladimir Troyanovskiy raising to 50,000 from the cut off. Ivan Soshnikov made the call from the small blind before Martin Jacobson thought about his next move from the big blind. He then moved all in for 189,000 in chips and was called by both his opponents.

Troyanovskiy and Soshnikov then checked down the {4-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{a-Spades} board. Soshnikov rolled over his {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds} for two pair, but they were no match against Jacobson’s {A-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} which were tabled straight after.

The ace on the river sees Jacobson triple up to 567,000 in chips.

Chen Takes One Down

Level 15 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Andrew Chen claimed the blinds once with a raise the previous orbit and then raised to 52,000 from under the gun and was called by Mustapha Kanit in the small blind and Juha Helppi in the big blind. On the {7-Spades} {8-Spades} {8-Hearts} flop, the action was checked to the Canadian and his continuation bet of 52,000 did the trick.

Jacobson Once Again Short

Level 15 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Martin Jacobson raised to 50,000 from the button and Vladimir troyanovskiy called out of the big blind. On the {3-Spades} {K-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} flop, the Russian check-raised from 50,000 to 115,000 and Jacobson called to see the {2-Diamonds} on the turn. Troyanovskiy bet 135,000 and was called before the {K-Spades} on the river triggered checks by both players.

Troyanovskiy showed {4-Hearts} {3-Hearts} and that was good enough to take down the pot.

Markin Climbing

Level 15 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Leonid Markin is playing a bit different than the other remaining players in the tournament. His raise sizes differ from the others. On the one hand they're a bit bigger before the flop most of the times, on the other hand his three bets are smaller.

Just now Stephen Chidwick limped the button for 24,000. Leonid Markin in the small blind raised it up to 52,000 and Kanit folded his big blind. Chidwick called, but folded to his neighbors 60,000 c-bet on {7-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{9-Hearts}.

So far its working out for him, he has one of the biggest stacks in the room.
