Raskin Gets Paid

Level 10 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Micah Raskin raised to 20,000 from under the gun plus one and was called by Ivan Soshnikov in the cut off.

The flop came down {7-Spades}{8-Spades}{j-Diamonds} and Raskin quickly bet out 25,000. Soshnikov reached for his chips and made the call as the {5-Clubs} landed on the turn.

Raskin instantly threw out another bet of 75,000 which had Soshnikov thinking. He made the call moments later and the two watched the {8-Hearts} complete the board.

Like he had down on all previous streets, Raskin quickly threw out another bet totaling 100,000 in chips. This time Soshnikov went into the tank for several minutes, deliberating over his decision.

“Queens?” Soshnikov asked, as he threw in the call.

Raskin then tabled his {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} which was enough to take down the pot as Soshnikov’s cards flew into the muck.

Chen Doubles Through Soshnikov

Level 10 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Action folded round to Andrew Chen on the button who opened for 16,000. Ivan Soshnikov was in the small blind and had been bullying the table, picking up a succession of small pots, and he three-bet. The big blind got out of the way and Chen quickly moved all in. Just as quickly Soshnikov called and the cards were on their backs.

Soshnikov: {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

Chen: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

Chen was looking good for a double up and then the flop came out {3-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{6-Clubs}. Soshnikov had hit his set to propel him into the lead. Running clubs or a king was needed for Chen to survive.

The turn card was the {j-Hearts} and then on the river the {k-Spades} arrived to rescue Chen and take a chunk out of Soshnikov’s stack as the Russian ran in to kings yet again.

Watson Busts in Three-Way All In

Level 10 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Mike Watson
Mike Watson

The action started with a raise to 18,000 by Vladimir Troyanovskiy in the cutoff seat and Mike Watson moved all in for 162,000 from the button. Connor Drinan checked his cards and then threw in one green T-100,000 and two red T-25,000 chips for the call. Bryn Kenney folded his big blind and Troyanovskiy gave it some thought before moving all in himself for 370,000. Drinan called off and the three players turned over their cards:

Watson: {A-Hearts} {J-Clubs}
Drinan: {A-Clubs} {K-Diamonds}
Troyanovskiy: {Q-Clubs} {Q-Spades}

Watson was all in and at risk with the worst hand and already stood up after the {6-Clubs} {9-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} {9-Spades} turn, the Canadian was drawing dead. The {7-Hearts} on the river was a brick and Troyanovskiy won the massive pot to take almost two third off the stack of Drinan and is now among the chip leaders.

Adams Down to 4,000 - Makes Comeback

Level 10 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Timothy Adams
Timothy Adams

After a big hand with Sorel Mizzi (where Mizzi had pocket fours if we're correct) Timothy Adams was down to 5,000. After having to pay the ante he had just 4,000 left. We stuck around to see what would happen, and got treated to a good ol' comeback story.

1) Action folded to Adams on the button who pushed for 4,000. Jacobson completed the small blind, Leonid Markin checked his big blind. Jacobson and Markin checked the entire board of {10-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{8-Spades}{7-Spades}{2-Spades} and Markin won the side pot with {5-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for nine-high. Jacobson had {6-Spades}{3-Hearts} and mucked. The main pot went to Adams with his unimproved {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades}.

2) Thorel opened to 16,000 under the gun and Martin Kabrhel made the call in the hijack. Adams shoved for 18,000 from the cutoff and Markin in the small blind made the call. Fedor Holz in the big blind pushed for 196,000 and Thorel, Kabrhel and Markin all folded. Adams was holding {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and was up against Holz' {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}. The board ran out {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{10-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and Adams just about quintupled his stack.

3) Adams open shoved and next door neighbor Martin Jacobson made the call for 91,000. All other players folded and Adams showed his {4-Spades}{4-Clubs}. Jacobson showed {A-Spades}{K-Spades} and they were off to the races again. The {J-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{7-Spades}{10-Diamonds} board improved no one and Adams was back at it.

4) Adams opened under the gun to 18,000 and Leonid Markin made the call in the hijack. On {A-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{7-Clubs} it was Adams who c-betted 25,000 and Markin folded.

Drinan Doubles Through Kenney

Level 10 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

The action folded around to Connor Drinan on the button who raised it up to 18,000. Bryn Kenney was seat to his left and bumped it up to 51,000 as the big blind got out of the way. With the decision back on Drinan, he moved all in for his last 206,000 in chips. Kenney asked for a count before making the call.

Drinan: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Kenney: {a-Spades}{10-Clubs}

Drinan was in great shape to double up, but had to fade several outs when the flop came down {7-Spades}{8-Spades}{10-Spades}. Fortunately for him, the board ran out the {6-Clubs} and {4-Diamonds} to see him double 430,000 in chips. After that hand Kenney drops down to 82,000 in chips.

Just a Full House

Level 10 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Tobias Reinkemeier raised to 20,000 from the cutoff and Vladimir Troyanovskiy three-bet to 52,000 out of the small blind. The German called and they both then checked down the board of {9-Diamonds} {2-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} {3-Spades} {9-Clubs}. Troyanovskiy showed {3-Clubs} {3-Hearts} for a full house and Reinkemeier rose up for a second from his massage with a big grin on his face and then said "sneaky" to his opponent from Russia.

Reinkemeier Upsets Kenney

Level 10 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Bryn Kenney raised to 18,000 from under the gun and Tobias Reinkemeier just called to see the flop of {2-Hearts} {6-Spades} {Q-Spades}. Kernney check-called a bet of 20,000 by the German and did so again for 50,000 on the {9-Clubs} turn. The {8-Clubs} on the river saw yet another check by Kenney and Reinkemeier bet 100,000.

The American eventually called and was then shown {9-Spades} {9-Diamonds} for a set of nines before mucking his cards.

Vogelsang Busts Dirty

Level 10 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Christoph Vogelsang
Christoph Vogelsang

Pablo Fernandez opened the action from early position for 16,000 and Mustapha Kanit on the button made it 42,000.

Christoph Vogelsang was in the small blind and asked Fernandez, “How much do you have?” Fernandez showed him his stack of about 170,000 which was a little more that Vogelsang had.

Close to five minutes passed as Vogelsang stared at first Fernandez, then Kanit and then his stack. The final decision was to put the rest of his chips over the line. Fernandez wasted no time in folding but Kanit quickly called to put Vogelsang at risk.

Vogelsang: {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}

Kanit: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

The flop of {8-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} was bang on target for Vogelsang who was looking good for a double up but the {k-Spades} on the turn meant he had to dodge further aces or kings. Kanit pointed to where the river card would land and made a little, “Pffft.” sound.

The dealer burned a card and turned over the {k-Diamonds} to gasps of disbelief.

Dan Shak said, “That’s about as dirty as it gets.”

As Vogelsang gathered his belongings an apologetic Kanit pointed at Ole Schemion opposite him and said, “He taught me that.”

Adams Continues To Climb

Level 10 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Sorel Mizzi started proceedings with a raise to 16,000 from under the gun plus one. Martin Kabrhel made the call from the hijack before Timothy Adams moved all in for his remaining 233,000 in chips from the cut off.

MIzzi folded his hand. Kabrhel then went into the tank for several minutes before finally making the call as both players tabled their cards.

Kabrhel: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Adams: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}

Kabrhel was looking in great shape of adding more chips to his stack until the dealer spread out the {7-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{9-Clubs} board. Adams had spiked a club on the river to complete a flush resulting in him winning the hand.

Adams now has 501,000 in chips. Kabrhel drops down to 321,000 in chips.
