Welcome to Day 2 of the PokerStars.net EPT Copenhagen

Peter Eastgate
Peter Eastgate
Day 2 of the EPT Copenhagen is due to start at 2 p.m. local time (GMT+1). The two day ones combine with 170 players remaining. Peter Eastgate tops the chip count with 79,700, while his fellow Day 1a starter Ola Brandborn is in second place with just 400 less.

Tommy Pavliek is the only player out of the top ten who is not from Scandinavia. The Canadian online qualifier lies in 8th place with 67,000 chips after being as low as 4,000 early in day one.

The plan today is to play 10 levels, so it is going to be a long hard slog for the players and media alike. The top ten chip counts are:

Peter Eastgate 79,700
Ola Brandborn 79,300
Theo Jørgensen 75,900
Mathias Andersen 71,600
Stig Farholt 70,600
Andreas Glannbro 69,700
Nedin Musa 67,300
Tommy Pavlicek 67,000
Dennis Naci Hansen 63,300
Simon Dørslund 59,500

Level: 9

Blinds: 400/800

Ante: 100

Plans and Procedures for Day 2

According to tournament director Thomas Kremser, we will play until we hit the money at 40 players remaining or eight full levels -- whatever comes first. Play will be eight-handed from here on out. Players will get a 15-minute break every two levels, with a 45-minute dinner break following Level 4.

Early Eliminations

So far we have lost:

Georgios Pittas
Jannick Wrang
Brian Bischoff

Brian Bischoff was the only player not to be a shortstack in this list, his A-K did not hit against Anders Hansen's queens.

Today's Tough Tables

Barny Boatman, Peter Hedlund, and Joseph Serock face off at Table 22, while big stacks Jan Sorensen and Peter Eastgate are seated together at Table 24. Johannes Korsar and Team Poker Stars' Luca Pagano are both at Table 29. The worst draw of the day award goes to Table 38, where Trond Erik Eidsvig, Paul Testud, and Ramzi Jelassi are all seated.
