Ivan Luca wins!
Ivan Luca wins!

The final day of the PokerStars.net Eureka Poker Tour Rozvadov €1,100 Main Event saw eight players out of a 682-entry field return to the tables of King's Casino in Rozvadov. Seven different nationalities were represented at the final table nestled in the largest poker room in Europe, but it was Argentina that proved strongest with Ivan "Negriin" Luca taking top honors for €106,186.

Luca faced his girlfriend, Maria Lampropoulos, in heads-up play for the title on International Women's Day, and the couple battled for 90 minutes. During that time, Luca had increased to a dominating lead, and then sealed the deal when he made a flush on the river to emerge victorious.

It all started with a bang, or even several bangs, as one hour had gone by and just three players remained.

Hannes Speiser was gone in the very first hand when he got his short stack in with the {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades} and Luca called out of the small blind with the {A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}. The board ran out {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{J-Hearts} and Speiser was eliminated in eighth place for €12,500 after only 90 seconds of action.

On Hand #4, Lampropoulos min-raised and Luca flat-called with a pair of eights before Robert Kokoska three-bet jammed on the button. Lampropoulos quickly called with the {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades}, Luca folded, and Kokoska's {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds} was drawing dead on the turn of a {K-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{2-Spades} board.

Just one hand later, Mick Heder became the next casualty. The Dane three-bet all in with the {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts} and initial raiser, Luca, snap-called with the {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}. Heder picked up some outs on the {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{7-Hearts} flop, but neither the {A-Clubs} turn nor the {8-Clubs} river were of any help.

The early madness was complete with the bustout of Stoyan Stefanov in Hand #7. David Urban min-raised from the cutoff seat and the Bulgarian jammed 22 big blinds from one seat over with the {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}. Urban snap-called with the {A-Spades}{K-Clubs} to spike both over cards on the {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{4-Spades} flop. After the {J-Diamonds} turn and {Q-Spades} river, Stefanov was eliminated in fifth place for a payday of €33,100.

Around one hour had passed before Peter Siemund was sent to the rail in fourth place. The German raised and called a three-bet to see a flop of {10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}. Urban's continuation bet was just called, and the Slovakian then jammed the {4-Spades} turn to put the Berlin-based player at risk for just over the size of the pot. Siemund called and flipped over top pair with the {Q-Clubs}{10-Spades}. Urban had the {A-Diamonds}{5-Spades} for a gut shot and ace high. The {A-Hearts} river gave Urban the better hand and the chip lead three-handed, while Siemund exited in fourth for a payday of €41,500.

What followed was an endurance challenge of almost five hours, including breaks. Several times Urban pulled away from his two opponents before then paying off a costly over-bet with pocket jacks. Luca showed the {K-Diamonds}{8-Spades} for slow-played trips on the turn and a rivered full house. Urban never recovered from that set back and Lampropoulos kept hitting a lot of hands against him to send the Slovakian on a short stack.

Down to less than 12 big blinds, Urban shoved out of the big blind into two limps with his {J-Spades}{8-Clubs} and Luca snap-called with the {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} to set up the all-Argentinian heads-up match after a board of {K-Spades}{9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{2-Clubs}.

A deal was made and a sum of €5,000 was left aside to the eventual winner. Luca started heads-up play with a slight lead, but was not getting an easy ride from his girlfriend. In fact, Lampropoulos pulled into the lead twice before losing the momentum again. In the last hand, a limped pot saw her bet the {9-Clubs}{6-Spades}{2-Hearts}{3-Clubs} turn with the {7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}. The straight was completed after the {4-Clubs} fell on the river, but Luca made a flush with the {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs}. Lampropoulos bet and then called a shove to bust in second place, and that was all she wrote.

A payday of €95,404 was awarded to Lampropoulos and became the highest of her career. She came second at the World Poker Tour National Brussels last month for €68,200 for another impressive score, but the spotlight here was all on Luca, as the 23-year-old added another title to his impressive résumé, which already boasts more than $2.8 million in tournament cashes.

The final hand at the end of the level saw Ivan Luca limp in for 250,000 with the {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs} and Maria Lampropoulos checked her big blind with the {7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} on a stack of 4 million chips. Both checked the {9-Clubs}{6-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop and Lampropoulos then bet the {3-Clubs} turn for 300,000.

Luca made the call and found the magic {4-Clubs} river to make a flush, the same card gave Lampropoulos also a straight. She bet 800,000 and Luca took his time before shoving and getting the call by his girlfriend. Lampropoulos has been eliminated in 2nd place for a career-highest payday of €€95,404.

Siemund: {Q-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Urban: {A-Diamonds}{5-Spades}

The {A-Hearts} river gave Urban the better hand and the chip lead three-handed while Siemund exited in 4th place for a payday of €41,500.

It took another two hands to see the next all in and a call, in hand number seven to be exact. David Urban raised to 125,000 from the cutoff and Stoyan Stefanov then moved all in for 1,345,000 from the button. The blinds both folded and Urban snap-called.

Stefanov: {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}
Urban: {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}

The flop fell {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{4-Spades} and both over cards hit for the Slovakian. It was all over for the Bulgarian once the {J-Diamonds} turn and {Q-Spades} river completed the board and Stefanov was eliminated in 5th place for a payday of €33,100.

Just one hand later, in hand number five of the final table, Ivan Luca raised to 120,000 from early position. On the button, Mick Heder moved all in for 20 big blinds and was quickly called by the Argentinian.

Heder: {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts}
Luca: {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}

The flop {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{7-Hearts} saw Heder with top pair and a flush draw, but the huge outs for the Dane didn't come. It was the {A-Clubs} turn and the {8-Clubs} river that reduced the field to the last five players within a matter of 15 minutes.

The Argentinian sensation propelled into the top position early on Day 3 and never fell out of the top three anymore, busting Domenico Gala at the end to secure a commanding lead.

Players with seven different nationalities out of a 682-entry strong field have made it to the final table and the only country to be represented by two players is Argentina, as Luca's girlfriend Maria Lampropoulos follows in third place with a stack of 2,455,000. In fact, they are even sitting next to each other to create an even more intense scenario.

In second place is Germany's Peter Siemund with 2,845,000 while David Urban (2,005,000) attempts to become the second Slovakian to emerge victorious in a Eureka Main Event in Rozvadov, as Martin Meciar triumphed two years ago. Bulgaria's Stoyan Stefanov (1,505,000) and Denmark's Mick Heder (1,370,000) are in the middle of the pack whereas the bottom two stacks belong to the last remaining Czech in the field, Robert Kokoska (895,000), as well as Austria's Hannes Speiser (445,000).

All finalists have €12,500 locked up thus far, but all eyes are set on the Eureka title and first-place payout of €124,890 that comes with it. The tournament recommences with 43:43 minutes left in level 27 and blinds of 30,000-60,000 and a running ante of 10,000. As usual, the live reporting team will be on hand until the last river card is dealt, so make sure to tune back in regularly to find out who emerges victorious.

One of the top poker players from the Czech Republic was originally planning another career, playing football for Sparta Prague. But when Robert Kokoska injured his knee several years ago, he started taking poker seriously and turned professional soon. Kokoska has been successful both live and online, playing since 2008. On the live circuit, he's amassed over $230,000 in live tournament winnings with the biggest prize of $52,430 earned for a first place in the Venetian Deepstack Extravaganza $1k Event back in 2012.

Recently, he cashed in the PCA 2016 Main Event (93rd for $10,840). The 27-year-old from the small town Neratovice is still playing football. He's a midfielder for his hometown team which lies in the Czech fourth tier. Although seventh in chips, Kokoska can still hope to become the first Czech player to win the Eureka Main Event.
