Day 1c of The Great Lakes Poker Classic Begins at 11:00 a.m.
Today sees the third and fourth opportunities for players to advance into Day 2 of the Great Lakes Poker Classic and secure a piece of the $300,000 guaranteed prize pool today at Firekeepers Casino Hotel in Battle Creek Michigan. 11:00 a.m. sees the kickoff of Day 1c and Day 1d will follow suit at 5:00 p.m.
Leading the way of Day 1ab is Jeff Hill (572,000) who ended up with the overall chip lead after playing in Day 1b. The Michigan native has seen much success here at FireKeepers, having finished second place in the MSPT in 2019 to Christopher Moon (179,000), who also bagged yesterday in Day 1a. With his massive stack yesterday, he sits in the best position of all of the advancing players in the prior two flights and looks to add to his $356,050 in live earnings.

Rounding out the podium are Brian Barnes (407,000) and Alec Magdan (391,000), both of whom advanced in Day 1a. Magdan becomes the first player of the event to secure a double bag. Day 2 will not begin in the money but he will be receiving an additional $3,000 for his efforts at a minimum.
Players who are likely to come out and play after not advancing yesterday include MSPT hall of famer Pat Steele, MSPT Battle Creek champion Thomas Midena, and WPT champion Brek Schutten.

Players sit down with 40,000 in starting chips, with blinds beginning at 100/200, with a 200 big blind ante. Levels will escalate once every 40 minutes, with a 15-minute break occurring at the conclusion of every three levels. Registration will remain open until the beginning of Level 13, where play will continue until 15 full levels are played or 11% of the field is reached. Those who do not bag up in this flight will have ample opportunity in the following three flights to advance to Day 2, which occurs on Sunday at noon. Players who double bag will receive a bonus of $3,000, with all players who bag up more than twice receiving $5,000 with each of their bags.
