Stevens Runs Hot; Busts Three in Three Hands

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 750 ante
Stevens vs Petrangelo and Addamo
Stevens vs Petrangelo and Addamo

Nick Petrangelo open-jammed for the last 88,177 and Bert Stevens isolated from the cutoff for 215,277. Michael Addamo called all-n from the small blind to make it a three-bet showdown.

Nick Petrangelo: {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}
Michael Addamo: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Bert Stevens: {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}

The board ran out {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{7-Hearts}{q-Spades} and Stevens got there for the double knockout. He then won the next hand before taking on Marius Gierse in another preflop contest.

Marius Gierse: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Bert Stevens: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

The {6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds} board kept the best hand ahead thanks to a four-card flush.

Muehloecker Scores a Double

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 750 ante

Jean-Pierre "Kunkuwap" Van Der Spuy went into maniac mode and got his chips in every other hand. He spiked a double once and then ripped it in from the button once more, which a shorter stacked Thomas Muehloecker called out of the big blind.

Thomas Muehloecker: {4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}
Jean-Pierre "Kunkuwap" Van Der Spuy: {5-Spades}{3-Spades}

The {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}{7-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{k-Clubs} board kept the mighty pair ahead as Muehloecker doubled.

Big Pots Back and Forth

Level 18 : 3,250/6,500, 800 ante

Bert Stevens defended the big blind against Samuel Vousden and then fired three barrels on a king-high board with {k-Spades}{6-Spades} for top pair. Vousden called it down with {q-}{j-} for the second pair and Stevens remained ahead.

Several big pots were traded back and forth after that without showdown as Jason Koon emerged among the big stacks.

Petrangelo Eliminated Once More

Level 18 : 3,250/6,500, 800 ante

Lev "LevMeAlone" Gottlieb ran with ace-seven into the pocket queens of Thomas Muehloecker and found no help. The table broke right after but a new one may open momentarily as Gottlieb re-entered right away.

Nick Petrangelo then jammed a short stack with the {9-Hearts}{6-Hearts} out of the small blind and Andras Nemeth called with {k-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} in the big blind.

Both hit a pair on {k-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{6-Spades} and Petrangelo found hope with the {a-Hearts} turn. However, the {k-Clubs} river gave Nemeth trips kings.
