Petrangelo and Watson Lead the Pack

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 600 ante
Mateos vs Watson
Mateos vs Watson

In the final hand before the break, two massive pots played out to vault Nick Petrangelo and Mike Watson into the top two spots.

Adrian Mateos raised to 17,500 in the small blind and Watson made the call out of the big blind to see the {a-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop. Mateos continued for 12,738 and Watson just called to then do so again for 40,000 on the {8-Clubs} turn.

Mateos bet the {4-Hearts} river for 102,038 and Watson jammed for 219,857, sending his opponent deep into the tank. The Spaniard eventually called with {a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} but Watson had {9-Clubs}{9-Spades} for nines full.

Michael Addamo was then involved in three-way action to the {j-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop and led for 8,101 on the button. Dario Sammartino folded in the big blind and Nick Petrangelo called. On the {5-Diamonds} turn, Petrangelo check-called for another 36,927 and checked the {k-Diamonds} river.

Addamo emptied the clip and jammed for 136,423, which Petrangelo called without using the time bank. Addamo's {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} had made kings and fives but it was Petrangelo that held the best hand in {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} for aces and fives.

Badziakouski and Pärssinen No More

Level 14 : 2,250/4,500, 550 ante

Eelis Pärssinen jammed the cutoff with the {q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and clashed with David Peters, who had him covered by 290 chips with {a-Hearts}{9-Clubs} on the button.

The {q-Spades}{9-Spades}{7-Spades}{6-Hearts}{a-Spades} board gave Peters superior two pair eventually.

Mikita Badziakouski then got the last few chips in from the big blind and faced off with Bert Stevens in the small blind.

Mikita Badziakouski: {a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}
Bert Stevens: {a-Spades}{10-Spades}

The {j-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{q-Spades} board ensured that the kicker played.

Stevens and Petrangelo on the Rise

Level 14 : 2,250/4,500, 550 ante

Bert Stevens and Wiktor Malinowski got their middling stacks in and it was one of the typical flips.

Bert Stevens: {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Wiktor Malinowski: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

The {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{10-Spades}{4-Spades}{8-Clubs} board left Malinowski with a chip and chair, which he lost the very next hand. That didn't slow down the action at all, it only took a few moments for the next all-in and call-

Nick Petrangelo was then involved in a massive preflop clash with Sami Kelopuro as the duo created a pot of almost 440,000.

Sami Kelopuro: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
Nick Petrangelo: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

The {10-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{3-Hearts} board provided no ace or king to eliminate Kelopuro.

Last but not least, the remaining few chips of Felipe "sonicfast" Costa vanished with {q-Hearts}{j-Spades} on the button. Andras Nemeth on the second bullet called with {a-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} in the big blind to remain ahead throughout a {k-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{4-Spades}{4-Hearts}{5-Clubs} board.

Mateos Leaps Into the Lead

Mateos vs Badziakouski
Mateos vs Badziakouski

Adrian Mateos jammed out of the small blind with the {a-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and Mike Watson looked him up with the {8-Clubs}{8-Spades} out of the big blind.

The board ran out {a-Clubs}{9-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{j-Hearts} and Mateos spiked the ace in the window.

One hand later, Andras Nemeth raised to 9,450 and Mikita Badziakouski three-bet to 23,400 in the hijack. Mateos four-bet to 53,100 on the button and Nemeth folded. Badziakouski jammed and was beaten into the pot by Mateos.

Adrian Mateos: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}
Mikita Badziakouski: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

The {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{4-Spades} board secured back-to-back doubles for Mateos.

Rudolph Busts "judd trump"

Level 13 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

In a preflop all-in contest, China's "judd trump" was well ahead with {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}. Christian Rudolph only had the {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs} but improved on the {a-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} flop. The {8-Spades} turn made that eights full and the {k-Diamonds} river brought no miracle chop for "judd trump".

In the meanwhile, Artur Martirosian re-entered and chipped up some right out of the gates.

Davies Out Once More

Level 13 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Seth Davies lost a flip with {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} against the {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} of Stephen Chidwick as the board ran out {j-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{k-Spades}{2-Hearts}. One hand later, the last two blinds vanished.

Artur Martirosian also departed when he got it in from the cutoff with {a-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and was called by Shawn Daniels on the button with {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}. The board came {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} as Daniels spiked broadway.

Superior Kicker for Muehloecker

Level 13 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Thomas Muehloecker min-raised from under the gun and Shawn Daniels called out of the small blind, as did Felip "sonicfast" Costa in the big blind. The {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}{7-Clubs} flop was checked by the trio and Muehloecker check-called the {q-Clubs} turn for 9,504 when Daniels bet. On the {3-Hearts} river, Muehloecker check-called another 19,800 and his {a-Clubs}{10-Spades} won the kicker duel versus {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}.
