Welcome to GGPoker Spring Festival H-84: $25,500 Super High Roller

Fedor Holz
Fedor Holz

The high-stakes action of the GGPoker Spring Festival continues with more big buy-in events today, one of which is the upcoming H-84: $25,500 Super High Roller, set to begin just after 3 p.m. EDT.

Already, tens of millions of dollars have been awarded in the festival, and this event will see at least another $2 million added to that tally thanks to the guarantee posted.

Everyone will get 100,000 in their starting stacks with blinds kicking off at 250/500/60. Levels will be 15 minutes apiece the whole way through, and as usual, unlimited reentries will be permitted. Roughly five hours of late registration will be open, so there will be plenty of time for numbers to swell beyond the 11 currently registered for the start of play.

Some of those already committed include such stars as Adrian Mateos, David Peters, Juan Pardo, Chris Rudolph, Sami Kelopuro and GGPoker's own Fedor Holz.

Stick around PokerNews to follow this one-day event and see who will take down the latest big prize of the GGPoker Spring Festival

Addamo Can't Shake Haxton

Level 7 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Haxton calls it off
Haxton calls it off

Isaac Haxton raised to 3,360 in middle position and Michael Addamo peeled from the big blind. On a {2-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{j-Spades} flop, Addamo checked, Haxton bet 2,853, and Addamo called.

The turn was the {3-Spades} and Addamo opted for a tiny lead of 1,540. Haxton made it 14,614, Addamo reraised to 36,788, and Haxton called.

On the {10-Hearts} river, Addamo went all in for 93,926 and Haxton called for 85,695 total after some thought. Addamo showed {5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} for a pair of fives and Haxton tabled the winner with {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} to leave the Aussie with dust which he lost shortly after.

Pardo on the Rise

Level 10 : 1,500/3,000, 350 ante
Juan Pardo Dominguez
Juan Pardo Dominguez

Juan Pardo was down to 33K that he got in second to act over an under-the-gun open from Sami Kelopuro. Isaac Haxton called on his left, and everyone else folded. Haxton flopped well with his {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} as {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{3-Hearts} hit, leaving Pardo's {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} in rough shape. However, the {10-Spades} turn improved him to a straight.

Haxton still had a ton of outs but missed on the {2-Diamonds} river.

A couple of hands later, Pardo shoved all in from the big blind for about 80K over a button open by Michael Addamo. The Aussie called with {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs} and Pardo was again flipping, this time on the pair: {5-Spades}{5-Clubs}. Addamo flopped some additional equity on {9-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} but improved no further.

Double KO for Watson

Level 13 : 2,250/4,500, 550 ante
Mike Watson
Mike Watson

Mike Watson opened early, Benjamin Rolle shoved for 55K in the hijack, and Mikita Badziakouski did the same for 115K in the big blind. Watson had an easy call.

Watson: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}
Badziakouski: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Rolle: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}

It was a lovely spot for Watson and the {j-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} board was just fine for him.

Anatoly Filatov

Sami Kelopuro opened for 66K in the cutoff and called the shove of a short-stacked Anatoly Filatov, who had 181K in the small blind.

Filatov: {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Kelopuro: {q-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

Kelopuro was smashed to the max but turned a straight on the {k-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{8-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{7-Spades} runout.

Mike Watson Eliminated in 9th Place ($71,363)

Level 28 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Mike Watson
Mike Watson

Action folded to the small blind, where Mike Watson shoved all in for 477,738. Benjamin Rolle was ready with {a-Spades}{6-Diamonds} but Watson had solid live cards with {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}.

The {j-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{3-Spades} flop favored Rolle but Watson still had equity. He grabbed a few more outs on the {k-Clubs} turn but the {4-Clubs} river didn't help him.

Thomas Muehloecker
Thomas Muehloecker

Matthias Eibinger raised to 102,500 in middle position and Benjamin Rolle shove in the cutoff for 1.4 million. Thomas Muehloecker had about 700K and called on the button. Eibinger tank-folded.

Muehloecker: {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}
Rolle: {a-Spades}{10-Spades}

Rolle was dominated but found some help on the {5-Clubs}{3-Spades}{j-Spades} flop. The drama was sucked out of the hand with a {4-Spades} turn.

Benjamin Rolle Eliminated in 6th Place ($155,757

Level 31 : 35,000/70,000, 8,500 ante
Benjamin Rolle
Benjamin Rolle

Benjamin Rolle shoved in the cutoff covering everyone behind him. Wei Zhao called in the big blind for about 500,000.

Rolle: {a-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}
Zhao: {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}

The {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}{j-Hearts} flop pulled Zhao ahead. The {k-Diamonds} turn meant Rolle could win with an ace or a ten but the river was the {3-Diamonds}.

Left with a little under 600K, Rolle got it in next hand with {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} against big blind Sami Kelopuro and his {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}. The board ran {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}{10-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{3-Spades} to leave the nines beaten.
