Julian Stuer Takes Down GGPoker HRW 07: $10,300 NLHE High Roller, $1.25M GTD for $264,636!
The HRW 07: $10,300 NLHE High Roller, $1.25M GTD on GGPoker saw 130 players join in on the festivities and when the dust had settled it was Julian Stuer emerging as the victor, taking home $264,635 for his efforts.
This marks the biggest cash online on GGPoker for Stuer thus far, recording eight cashes prior for a total of $293,420 with the previous biggest coming in the $5,000 GGPoker NLHE Main Event, $25 Million GTD for $79,625.
Stuer started logging cashes online in July of this year and already has scored a title here on GGPoker. Look for Stuer to come out mashing buttons during this series after accomplishing such a major feat, taking home his first six-figure score, along with a High Rollers Week title.
The final table, as expected, was full of some of the stiffest competition in the world with Stuer sitting second on the totem pole to begin. He had to go through the likes of Dan Smith, Mark Radoja, Isaac Haxton, Daniel Dvoress, and GGPoker ambassador Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier to secure his title.

Action of the Day
The day began with just under two tables to start, with 130 registration buttons clicked by the time late registration had closed. Many well-known poker pros jumped in but an even more exciting registrant was spotted in the field for some when Lewis Hamilton made an appearance. Although the Formula One driver failed to record a cash in this event, he brought the excitement level to the max.
On the end of level 24 is when the dreaded bubble took place and it was Daniel Dvoress who popped it when he knocked out Alexandros Kolonias. Dvoress opened from under the gun and Kolonias called, leaving behind around one big blind. The ten-high flop saw Kolonias shove ace-six and Dvoress snapped with his pair of johnnies. A jack on the turn cemented it for the Canadian and all players were then guaranteed at least a cash of $19,993.
Leading the way at the time was Canada's own Mike Watson who had a commanding lead after cracking the cowboys of Mikhail "Protrener1" Soltanov on the river with his queens earlier in the day. Watson smashed the middle parts of the tournament, constantly on the upward grind until the money was reached and his run good fizzled out, resulting in a twelfth place finish for $23,233.
Just a few hands after Watson's departure only ten players remained and two would take an exit during the same hand but at different tables, making it a final table of eight. Those two were Adrian Matoes (10th - $27,078) and Grospellier (9th - $35,354) who found their short stacks head into the middle to no avail as they both came up shy of a final table appearance, although Grospellier did get the pay jump.
The final table was then set and it was Bert Stevens sitting on top with Stuer nipping at his heels. Stevens quickly drew blood, eliminating Sami Kelopuro in a classic flip that saw the big slick of Stevens best the snowmen of Kelopuro who was eliminated first from the final table. Stevens continued to steamroll after, accumulating a plentiful amount of chips between that elimination and the next on Dvoress who shoved a pair of fives into the ace-queen of Stevens. An ace-high flop saw another player drop out as Stevens collected yet another big pot.
Isaac Haxton tried his luck at a race with Stevens but like the others, Haxton took an exit. Stevens opened with jack-ten and Haxton shoved over the top with a pair of snowmen. Stevens called and instantly in the window was a ten. Haxton failed to catch up and was eliminated in sixth place. Mark Radoja was in the big blind, holding ace-king when Stevens open-ripped from the small with king-jack. Radoja called and again the river card smashed Stevens, giving him an unlikely pair of jacks. The board ran out dry and Stevens sent another to the rail.
Dan Smith managed to overcome something most at the table couldn't as he survived thus far without stepping on the toes of Stevens but it was Stuer who took him on instead. Smith three-bet ripped with ace-nine and Stuer picked up queens. The board was of no help to Smith and he took an exit in fourth. Stuer turned up the heat during three-handed play, quickly building up a monster lead that he would lose during the same time a player was eliminated in third.
Stuer shoved from the button with eight-five and Kenneth "rebuyguy" Smaron called in the small blind, holding ace-jack. But the preflop action was not done there as Bert Stevens called as well with his pair of kings. The board brought a straight draw on the turn for Stuer but he failed to connect, doubling up Stevens who at the same time eliminated Smaron in third place.
The heads-up play did not last long as the two players decided to ICM chop. After a couple of all-in hands, it was Stevens falling shy of the top spot on the podium, taking home $262,470 for his runner-up finish after his ten-five fell to the jack-eight of Stuer who was then dubbed the champion of HRW 07: $10,300 NLHE High Roller, $1.25M GTD for $264,636!
