Novak Ousts Maue

Level 37 : 90,000/180,000, 22,500 ante

Andrii "Brahman33" Novak was down to crumbs when he got it in with {q-Diamonds}{10-Spades} against the {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds} held by Leonard "LottoLarry" Maue.

The {a-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{3-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{9-Hearts} board wasn't a good one for Maue and he was eliminated in 14th place. Dan "oiltrader" Shak hit the rail just before in 15th place.

Barkov Leaves Ylitalo Short

Level 37 : 90,000/180,000, 22,500 ante

Aleksei "JokerFace" Barkov opened to 360,000 from early position and got a call from Robin "porty27" Ylitalo in the big blind.

Ylitalo check-called a bet of 319,275 after the {3-Clubs}{2-Spades}{a-Hearts} came on the flop. He check-called again, this time for 529,997 after the {j-Spades} came on the turn.

The {6-Clubs} completed the board on the river and Ylitalo checked one last time. Barkov bet enough to put him all-in if he called. Ylitalo opted to fold and was short on chips after the hand.

End of the Line for Filatov

Level 36 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante

Anatoly Filatov had a short stack and got it in with {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts} against the {10-Hearts}{10-Spades} held by Andrii "Brahman33" Novak.

The flip went bad for Filatov from the start after Novak hit a set on the {10-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{6-Hearts} flop. Filatov was drawing dead after the {7-Diamonds} came on the turn and hit the rail despite hitting a pair on the {k-Clubs} river in 16th place.

Barkov Eliminates Zelentov

Level 36 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante

Alexey "AlexGLrus77" Zelentsov got in his short stack with {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts} and was eliminated in 18th place after he could get there against the {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} held by Aleksei "JokerFace" Barkov with the {a-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{q-Hearts} running out on the board.

Ramon "Ritza" Miquel Munoz hit the rail shortly after in 17th place to bring the action down to just two tables of eight players each.

Day 1 will conclude when the field is further trimmed down to a final table of nine players.

Shak Doubles Off Watson

Level 35 : 70,000/140,000, 17,500 ante

Michael Watson opened for 280,000 from the hijack with {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}. Dan "oiltrader" Shak three-bet jammed for 1,017,626 with {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} from the cutoff and Watson called.

Shak was at risk of elimination but he improved to trips after the {2-Spades}{5-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} ran out on the board to double up his stack.
