Kelly's Aces Win Rollercoaster Ride Against Kings

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante

Paul Kelly recounted one of the hands that added to his stack earlier.

It was a battle of the blinds and he raised in the small blind and was three-bet by the big blind. He four-bet to around 10,000, his opponent jammed for about 35,000, and Kelly called.

Big Blind: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Paul Kelly: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}

The {k-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{8-Clubs} flop put the cowboys ahead with a flopped set, but the {a-Hearts} turn gave Kelly a set of his own just as quickly. The {q-Spades} completed the board and Kelly scooped the pot while his opponent was busted.

According to players at the table, three players had gotten it in preflop with Brian Link covering both opponents. One opponent had just sat down with 25,000 chips and the other opponent had about 40,000 chips.

Opponent: {a-}{k-}
Opponent: {q-}{q-}
Brian Link: {a-}{a-}

Link found a good time to pick up aces and the board ran out {j-}{9-}{8-}{3-}{j-}, eliminating two players while Link added to his stack.

Whittington Bluffs with Broadway on Board

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

On a {j-Spades}{k-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} board and a pot of about 8,000, a player in the big blind bet 12,000. Blake Whittington raised to 25,000 from early position and another player folded.

The big blind player thought for a while before another player called the clock on him. Before the tournament director could initiate the clock, the big blind player folded his hand and Whittington showed the {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} as he claimed the pot.

Patterson's Top Pair Top Kicker Holds

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

With a 25,000 pot and {9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} as the community cards with the river to come, James Patterson was facing a pot-sized shove. He decided to call and the hands were flipped over.

Opponent: {q-Spades}{j-Clubs}
James Patterson: {a-Hearts}{9-Clubs}

Patterson needed to fade the overcards and the gutter, and he did as the {2-Hearts} came on the river to change nothing and send him the pot.
