Day 1 of Event #22: $600 Championship No-Limit Hold'em $500,000 Guaranteed begins today at 11 a.m.
The main event of The Grand Poker Series at the Golden Nugget continues today as players have one final shot at bagging a stack for Day 2. Thursday’s Day 1A had 206 entries, with Derrick Contreras from Houston, Texas bagging the chip lead with a chip stack of 544,000. Friday’s Day 1B saw 359 entries, and Tim Reilly from Las Vegas bagged the Day 1B chip lead with 748,000.
Combined from Day 1A and Day 1B, there are 71 players who have already made it through to Day 2 and there will surely be more today. The last day of the first day flights historically sees the most entrants.
Today for Day 1C, players will start with 25,000 in chips, with 40-minute levels and the blinds at 100-100. This is a big blind ante tournament with unlimited re-entry until the start of Level 13, which is approximated to be 8:45 p.m. There will be a 15-minute break every three levels and a 60-minute dinner break after the ninth level.
Each Day 1 will play to 12.5% of the field or at the Tournament Directors’ decision. All players who advance to Day 2 will be in the money.
