Mizzi Finds a Big Flop

Level 17 : 1,000,000/2,000,000, 300,000 ante

Sorel Mizzi has just managed to hit a big flop to double his stack. Mizzi was under the gun when he shoved for 16.95 million. Folded around to Jeff Rossiter in the big blind and he made the call.

Rossiter: {a-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
Mizzi: {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

The {k-Spades}{q-Spades}{10-Clubs} gave Mizzi a Broadway straight and while the {k-Clubs} turn gave Rossiter a sweat for a chop, the {7-Spades} river was no good and Mizzi doubled up.

Big Double for Heinecker

Level 16 : 700,000/1,400,000, 200,000 ante

Niklas Heinecker has just managed a massive double up to see his stack near chip leader Jeff Rossiter’s. Heinecker’s double up saw the German move all in for 20.950 million from the small blind. Zheng Tang snap-called from the big blind and Heinecker was at risk.

Heinecker: {10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Tang: {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs}

Heinecker wasn’t looking great, but that changed on the {k-Spades}{10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} board, with a ten on the flop giving him the goods to double up. Tang is now back to being the short stack.

Win Some, Lose Some

Level 16 : 700,000/1,400,000, 200,000 ante

Sorel Mizzi recently doubled up, but has now sent those chips straight back to Zheng Tang. The hand in question saw Tang shove for 15.6 million from the button. Mizzi splashed out a call from the big blind and tabled his {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}. Tang held {10-}{10-}.

The {3-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{k-Spades}{j-Diamonds} board was full of the wrong sort of paint for Mizzi and that gave Tang the double up.

Mizzi Doubles Up

Level 16 : 700,000/1,400,000, 200,000 ante

Zheng Tang opened the button to 3 million and the action was sent around to Sorel Mizzi, who opted to make the call. The dealer flipped over a {q-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop and Mizzi checked to Teng, who moved all in. Mizzi called off his stack of around 17 million and the two players turned their hands over.

Mizzi: {q-Diamonds}{9-Spades}
Tang: {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

Mizzi was at-risk but had the best hand. Mizzi then found a big sweat on the {a-Clubs} turn, with Tang finding a flush draw and a gut-shut straight draw to go along with his over card. The {7-Diamonds} was safe and just like that Mizzi had doubled up.

Decision for Heinecker

Level 16 : 700,000/1,400,000, 200,000 ante

Folded around to Sorel Mizzi on the button and he moved all in for 14,825,000. Niklas Heinecker was in the small blind and asked for a count. Heinecker then tanked, checking his cards a couple of times before folding. The rest of the players were out of the way and Mizzi picked up the small pot.

Isaac Haxton Eliminated in 5th Place (HK$10,200,000)

Level 16 : 700,000/1,400,000, 200,000 ante
Isaac Haxton - 5th place
Isaac Haxton - 5th place

Isaac Haxton was down to less than one big blind just a short while ago, but has now found himself on the rail in 5th place. Haxton’s final hand saw the play fold around to him in the small blind and moved all in for 14.3 million. Zheng Tang instantly called out of the big blind and the two players turned their hands over.

Haxton: {j-Spades}{3-Hearts}
Tang: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}

The board ran out {7-Hearts}{9-Spades}{a-Clubs}{3-Spades}{6-Hearts} and despite a sweat on the turn, Haxton was sent packing with a large HK$10,200,000 (US$1,316,129). We are now down to four players and the next player eliminated will take home HK$12,525,000 (US$1,616,129).
