Aggression From Rann

Level 1 : 100/100, 0 ante
James Rann
James Rann

James Rann, runner-up in the GUKPT Luton High Roller yesterday, recently took his seat in the Main Event and is straight into the action.

In the first of two consecutive hands, Rann saw his opponent raise to 300 from the button, and the small blind called. Rann 3-bet to 1,600 and saw both opponents fold.

Next up, Rann 3-bet to 1,500 from the small blind after the button player had raised to 300. They went to a {2-Clubs}{8-Spades}{j-Spades} flop, and Rann's 1,600 bet was called. Rann fired for 3,300 on the {5-Clubs} turn and saw his opponent open-fold {a-}{k-}.

Guillaume Soumier Secures 2022 GUKPT Luton Mini Main Event Title

Level 2 : 100/100, 100 ante
Guillaume Soumier
Guillaume Soumier

Guillaume Soumier had lifetime live poker tournament winnings of £4,455 until he decided to venture to Luton and compete in the £250 buy-in 2022 GUKPT Luton Mini Main Event. Soumier's decision turned out to be a great one because he came out on top of a 533-strong field to bank £30,400 of the £117,260 prize pool.

Soumier's largest score, prior to this impressive victory, tipped the scales at £2,700, his reward for winning a £57 buy-in tournament in Manchester back in August 2018. He was guaranteed a new career-high when there were seven players remaining in the 2022 GUKPT Luton Mini Main Event but ended up closing out the tournament for his first five-figure haul.

Hinton Hits a Set

Level 2 : 100/100, 100 ante

Jack Nolan bet 2,000 from the big blind with the flop down {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{q-Spades}. The player in the hijack raised to 6,000 and Samual Hinton instantly shoved for around 18,000. Nolan folded and the hijack player thought for a short period before putting his 13,000 into the middle.

Hinton revealed {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} for a set and was ahead of {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}. The {7-Diamonds} turn and {5-Spades} river changed nothing, and Hinton scored the pot and elimination.

Straight For Louch

Level 2 : 100/100, 100 ante

The flop was down {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} with around 4,000 already in the middle. Both Chris Louch, from under the gun, and Neophytos Neophytou, on the button, checked, and the {a-Diamonds} hit the turn. Louch check-called a 1,100 bet from Neophytou, and the {3-Diamonds} was revealed on the river.

Both players checked and Louch won the pot with a straight holding {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs} after Neophytou had shown {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}.
