Run It Again, HPO Columbus Day 1b is Today

The second flight of HPO's Columbus Regional Main Event starts today at 11:15 local time. A field of about 200 players is expected to show and and compete for a shot at Day 2. The Day 1b players that make it to Day 2 will join the 16 players from Day 1a Sunday at 12;15 local time and play for a shot at an HPO Title and a first prize of somewhere near $70,000.

Jeremy Detamore finished in the front of the pack last night with 282,500 and HPO Ambassador Chris Moneymaker, who took a hit on the very last hand of the night, will come into Day 2 carrying 54,500 chips. He got all in with {a-}{q-} versus the pocket tens of Josh Lowing (132,500). Moneymaker couldn't catch up and will need to do some work tomorrow.

Today's field will be almost twice as big with even more chips to go around. There were some giant swings throughout the day yesterday, so there are sure to be at least a few surprises in store today. Players will have to navigate their way through 14 50-minute levels if they want a seat in Day 2. A few players got up early this morning to play in a turbo satellite, and will be joining the field a little late, but with plenty of time to make their mark on Day 1b.

Follow all the action at pokernews.com and see photos and updates from the field as HPO's Regional Main Event in Columbus gets one step closer to crowning the latest HPO Champion. The winner of this event will also book a seat to the HPO Championship event in Las Vegas. The $2,500 event will be at the M Resort and Spa in June.
