Steven Gurney-Goldman opened for 400 from the hijack and received calls from the cutoff and Kenneth "Hockey" Hock on the button. George Giannakis then put in a three-bet to 1,800 from the small blind, two of his opponents called, and three players saw a flop of ![]()
![]()
.
Giannakis led out for 2,200, Gurney-Goldman called, and Hock folded. Both players checked the
turn, and then Gurney-Goldman bet 3,200 on the
river.
"I play the board," he said after Gurney-Goldman called him. Gurney-Goldman then tabled the ![]()
to claim the pot.

We're not sure when the money went in, but we do know that Kathy Clark was just eliminated when she got her chips in holding ![]()

, which meant that was all she wrote for Clark.

We told you Lee Childs has been running hot here in Grantville. That was evidenced by a double he received just minutes after taking his seat.
It happened when he raised to 300 and then called a three-bet to 700 from Tam Van Tam. Childs then checked the ![]()
![]()
flop, Tam bet 1,200, and Childs sprung to life with a check-raise to 3,000. Tam responded with a big all-in three-bet, and Childs snap-called off.

Tam held a big pair, but it was no good as Childs had flopped a set. Neither the
turn nor
river helped Tam, and he was left with just 75 in chips after the hand.
Needless to say, he got it in on the very next hand. There was some side action, but eventually a bet from Kathy Clark on the ![]()
![]()
flop isolated her opponent. Tam held ![]()
for a pair of deuces, but it was no good as Clark had the jacks he held one hand earlier. The
turn and
river completed the board, and then Tam headed for the exit.

Lee Childs, who if you recall finish seventh in the 2007 World Series of Poker Main Event, has just entered the tournament. Childs has been tearing it up here in Grantville as he's won two of the preliminary events.
What's more, his father has been doing quite well too as he's either won or chopped three Turbo tournaments. Unfortunately the senior Childs won't be taking a shot in the Main Event.
