Tureniec Time!

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Michael Tureniec
Michael Tureniec

Michael Tureniec and his heads-up opponent got about 100,000 in the pot heading to the river of a {10-Hearts}{9-Spades}{4-Spades}{6-Diamonds} board.

Tureniec checked when the {2-Diamonds} came down, and his opponent bet 75,000.

It took him 45 seconds to do it, but Tureniec made the call, turning over the {Q-Clubs}{10-Clubs} when his opponent suggested he was good.

With this latest pot, Tureniec has become a real threat climbing to around 350,000 now.

Cuny Back in it After River

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

A new player was moved to Seat 1 and he raised to 10,000 and Ray Cuny three-bet to 20,000. The action folded back to the initial raiser who moved all in for 120,000 and Cuny gave it a little bit of thought before throwing in the call.

Cuny: {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Opponent: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}

The board ran out {8-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and Cuny hit a ten on the river to knock another player out, and put himself back on 300,000 chips.

Aaron Mermelstein
Aaron Mermelstein

Aaron Mermelstein is having the kind of day that very few people who haven't won two WPT titles can even comprehend.

He's won flip after flip, had a player with an open-ender jam into his overpair and held, and pretty much turned everything he's touched into gold.

Mermelstein's got the chip lead now with 70 left and the money bubble fast approaching

Two Pair for Calvin

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Calvin Anderson checked the {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop, and Michael Aron bet 18,000. Anderson called, and the turn was the {2-Diamonds} to pair the board. Both players checked, and the river was the {A-Diamonds}. Both checked again.

Anderson showed the {K-Hearts}{10-Spades} for tens and deuces, and Aron mucked his hand.

'The Antagonizer' Eliminated

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Ben 'The Antagonizer'* Palmer was down to right around 30,000 chips when he just moved all in before the flop. Palmer's shove was called by Duke Lee, and the following showdown was upon the table.

Palmer: {3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}
Lee: {A-Spades}{5-Hearts}

"I'm just gonna get up and walk away," Palmer said, and he read was quite sharp considering the board ran out {K-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{5-Spades}{5-Clubs}.

Lee hit quads and Palmer was sent to the rail empty-handed.
