Opening Event Ends After Five-Way Deal

The HPT Golden Gates actually kicked off last weekend with a $400 buy-in Opening Event, which attracted 926 entries.

The tournament ended when the final five struck a deal that saw them each lock up five-figure scores – Jeremy Hanke (1st - $42,047), Eric Pfenning (2nd - $35,087), Vincent Moscati (3rd - $33,605), Steven Kanowitz (4th - $26,493), and Jeremy Standiford (5th - $22,117).

Others to cash the tournament were Corey Zedo (13th - $3,148), Sean Allison (16th - $2,262), and Teresa Hemingway (18th - $2,262), just to name a few. Here's a look at the final table payouts.
