Fireworks On the Flop Results in a Double Knock Out

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante
Mike Rieck
Mike Rieck

A hand that started out relatively tame, with five players, including Mike Rieck, limping preflop, got very interesting very quickly,

The dealer spread the {2-Hearts}{6-Spades}{7-Hearts} flop, and action checked to Rieck in late position and he bet 1,000, getting a call from the player in the next seat over.

The button folded, and the small blind check-raised to 8,000, which is when the fireworks started.

After the big-blind player folded, action was back on Rieck and he looked at the next seat's stack.

Rieck then announced, "All in,' putting out a stack of 5,000 chips, which was followed by all-ins from the players in the next seat over and in the small blind.

All three players tabled their hands, with Rieck having both players covered.

Rieck: {4-Hearts}{5-Hearts}
Small Blind: {k-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}
Late Position: {a-Hearts}{8-Hearts}

The board ran out {10-Clubs} on the turn and {8-Spades} on the river, giving Rieck the straight, which knocked out both players and gave Reick a huge early chipstack.

Davidson's Under the Gun Limp Results in a Huge Pot

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

We caught the action just before the dealer spread the flop, and Nick Davidson filled us in on the preflop action.

He limped from under the gun, the UTG+1 player then raised to 1,200, and got three callers.

When action returned to Davidson, he three-bet to 6,200, and got two callers.

After the big-blind player checked the {10-Clubs}{3-Spades}{4-Diamonds} flop, Davidson bet 13,000, and was only called by the player in middle position.

On the {8-Diamonds} turn Davidson went all in for about 26,000, and the middle-position player tanked for about a full minute before finally making the call and the players tabled their hands.

Davidson: {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}
Middle Position: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}

The {9-Diamonds} river sent the huge pot towards Davidson.

The flop came {4-Spades}{5-Spades}{3-Clubs}. After a series of three and four betting, both players ended up with all their chips in the middle. Heiland showed {a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for the wheel and Gum tabled middle set with {4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}.
