Hayley Hochstetler

Lead Photographer

PokerNews' Hayley Hochstetler started her career after a short time was spent studying Journalism at Iowa State University in 2013, where she covered Big 12 sports for the Iowa State Daily newspaper in Ames, Iowa. After returning home in early 2014, she took on a freelance role with the Daily Nonpareil and the Omaha World-Herald in Omaha, Nebraska, covering Southwest Iowa high school sports.

Mid-2014, she found herself in the casino industry where she was working as a casino beverage server in Council Bluffs, Iowa. After 5 years of that, she found her way into the poker world, stepping into a role as a staff photographer for the RunGood Poker Series.

In 2019, she was approached about covering the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas and spent the summer covering the 50th World Series of Poker for PokerNews. In August of 2019, soon after the end of the WSOP, she was promoted to Vice President of Media for RunGood, creating graphics, managing all social media channels, as well as leading photography needs and handling ambassador relations.

Throughout the pandemic, she spent time developing ideas for the poker industry that were remote, such as a live-streamed freeroll tournament for prizes on Faded Spade's platform, as well as co-founding the Keep The Lights On movement alongside Tana Karn. KTLO was a fundraiser that helped raise over $20,000 for freelance poker media to assist in paying bills during the pandemic while no live events were possible.

With the return of live poker in 2021, and the possibility of a live WSOP was once again a real thing, Hayley accepted a role with PokerNews to take over and lead the photography team during the WSOP. Currently she works for PokerNews during the World Series of Poker as well as still travels around the country with the RunGood Poker Series.

When not seen with a camera, Hayley can be found rollerblading, riding her longboard, or spending time with her mom and 3 golden retrievers.
