Ebanks Survives

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

With {4-Clubs}{9-Spades}{8-Diamonds} on the felt, Jake Sung and Griffin Abel both checked. Joe Ebanks was already all in and the {4-Spades} turned. Sung check-folded to 25,000 and Abel opened {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. Ebanks had the best of it, though, with {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}. He faded the river and tripled up.

Abel Finds Ladies

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Anthony McIe opened to 20,000 from early position and action folded around to Griffin Abel who defended his big blind. The flop came {10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{2-Spades} and Abel checked. McIe fired a continuation-bet of 22,000 and Abel made the call. The turn brought a {5-Diamonds} and both players checked to the {j-Clubs} river. Abel again checked, and McIe bet 35,000. Abel snap called, and hands were turned over.

Anthony McIe: {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}
Griffin Abel: {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

Though McIe hit top pair on the river, it was no match for Abel's queens as he raked in the pot.

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Steve Pheasant
Steve Pheasant

Doug Krency check-called 65,000 from the small blind on a board of {9-Spades}{8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and the {j-Hearts} hit. Krency checked again and Steve Pheasant fired in 100,000 from early position. Krency shoved all in for about 160,000 and Pheasant was a bit distressed as he thought for about 15 seconds.

"I have to call," he said, throwing his hands in the air.

Doug Krency: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}
Steve Pheasant: {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

Pheasant was in fantastic shape though and faded the ace on the {k-Diamonds} river. Krency was slightly covered and hit the rail on the bubble.

Noel Finds Miracle River

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Bobby Noel shoved all in from under the gun and action folded to Jason Pickup in the big blind. Pickup asked for a count, which was confirmed to be 84,000. He went deep into the tank and after about two minutes flung a chip in to signify the call.

Bobby Noel: {4-Diamonds}{4-Spades}
Jason Pickup: {a-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}

The players were off to the races, and the {a-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{a-Spades} flop had things looking great for Pickup. The turn brought the {j-Spades}, and Noel's tournament life was down to one card. Luckily, the river came {4-Clubs} and he hit his set to double up and stay alive.

Pisano Helped Royally

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

James Pisano shoved all in preflop for 171,000 from under the gun and action folded to Jason Pickup on the button, who shoved over the top for just over 200,000. The blinds folded, and the players exposed their cards.

James Pisano: {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
Jason Pickup: {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

Pisano was drawing for his tournament life as the flop was dealt {10-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{q-Diamonds}. Pickup flopped top set, but Pisano acquired straight and flush outs. The turn was the {6-Hearts}, and much to Pisano's delight the river came {a-Diamonds}, giving him the royal flush. He now sits with a slightly above average stack, while Pickup has been crippled.
