Ernstein Surging

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Andy Ernstein raised to 2,300 from middle position, and was called by Andres Garcia next to act, as well as Jeffrey Orlowski in the small blind.

Orlowski checked the {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}{j-Spades} flop over to Ernstein, who bet 7,300. Garcia folded and Orlowski called.

The {j-Diamonds} turn and {6-Clubs} river were checked through, and Orlowski tabled {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}. Ernstein had that beat with his {a-Spades}{2-Spades}, however.

"I was willin' to gamble!" Orlowski said to Ernstein, and Ernstein stacked up yet another pot.

Thurman Gets a Double Through Koral

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Keith Thurman
Keith Thurman

Keith Thurman jammed for his last 10,000 from the button, and Tom Koral had him at risk in the small blind.

Keith Thurman: {q-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Tom Koral: {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}

Thurman found plenty of help on the {q-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} flop to take the lead, but the {j-Diamonds} turn gave Koral some chop outs. The {6-Hearts} river was a blank, and Thurman doubled up.

Bekr Ali
Bekr Ali

The complete {7-Clubs}{q-Spades}{a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{10-Spades} board was out on the river, and Kevin Maahs had a bet of 7,500 in front of him from the button. Bekr Ali check-raised to 27,000 from the big blind, sending Maahs into the tank.

After a minute, he made the call, and Ali tabled {q-Clubs}{2-Clubs} for the nuts.

"Nice hand," Maahs said as he tossed his hand to the muck.

Casino's Turn to Four-Bet

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

Donald Carlton raised to 2,000 from under the gun, and Craig Casino called next to act. The cutoff three-bet to 9,000, which was enough to chase out Carlton.

Casino paused for just a moment before reaching for some 5,000 chips, and he announced, "Twenty-one," as he placed the required chips in the pot. The cutoff didn't take long to release his hand, and Casino took down the pot.

Sepiol Back to Starting Stack After Doubling Up Ernstein

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

Daniel Sepiol checked an {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} flop from the small blind, and Jeffrey Orlowski checked as well from the big blind. Andy Ernstein bet 4,000 from the hijack, and only Sepiol called.

The {q-Diamonds} fell on the turn, and Sepiol checked again. Ernstein bet 7,000, then snapped off his last 30,400 total after Sepiol check-raised all in.

Andy Ernstein: {k-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}
Daniel Sepiol: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

Sepiol needed a queen or an eight to knockout Ernstein, but the {2-Clubs} river left Sepiol sending half his remaining stack across the table to Ernstein.

Senie's Turn to Jam

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

Mike Shanahan raised to 2,000 from middle position, and was called by Leo Mitchell in the hijack and Brian Senie in the big blind.

Senie checked the {q-Hearts}{k-Spades}{4-Diamonds} flop to Shanahan, who bet 4,500. Both Mitchell and Senie called.

Action checked through the {5-Clubs} turn, and Senie ripped his last 23,000 in once the {2-Diamonds} fell on the river. Shanahan folded, and Mitchell announced a fold, then tabled {9-Spades}{9-Clubs} and said, "I was rooting for the turn to be a nine, and he give me a four and a five; that's not what I meant!" Senie nodded at Mitchell, then took down the pot.

Mitchell Flips Out Vizza

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

Sam Vizza limped in from under the gun, and Craig Casino raised to 2,200 from middle position. Leo Mitchell called from the cutoff, as did the button and small blind. Vizza then three-bet shoved for 24,700, chasing out Casino. Mitchell called, while the button and small blind both folded.

Sam Vizza: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Leo Mitchell: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}

Vizza got no help on the {q-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop, but drilled the {a-Diamonds} turn to take the lead. Luck was on Mitchell's side in the end, however, as the {10-Diamonds} river gave him a set and the knockout.

"I'll take it! I grimaced, then got lucky!" Mitchell said with a grin as he scooped in the last of Vizza's chips.

Zou Takes a Huge Chunk From Marlow

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante
Joseph Marlow
Joseph Marlow

A preflop raising war saw the big blind commit his last 9,000 in chips, Joseph Marlow rip it in for around 89,000 in chips, and Henry Zou called off for 75,600.

Big Blind: {a-Spades}{10-Spades}
Henry Zou: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Joseph Marlow: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

Zou lost the lead on the {6-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} flop, and the big blind secured a triple up after the {4-Clubs} turn and {j-Clubs} river bricked off. Zou was jubilant, however, as he was the beneficiary of a massive side pot, scoring him a tidy profit while leaving Marlow short.
