board from the big blind, and former HPT St. Louis champ Maurice Hawkins bet 2,400 into a pot 3,000. Sheikh check-raised to 6,000, and Hawkins three-bet enough to put Sheikh in for his last 25,000 or so. Sheikh quickly called.

river before the pot was chopped between the two. Even with the chop, Hawkins has gotten off to a strong start here in Day 1c action.
