Koeln Bets and Wins

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

John Thornton raised to 1,500 from under the gun, and was called by Gerald Claunch in the cutoff, Mark Koeln on the button, and Christopher Audrain in the big blind.

Action checked to Koeln on the {8-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{8-Hearts} flop, and he bet 6,000 into the pot of 6,900. All three of his opponents quickly mucked.

Williams Heats Up, Busts Two

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante
Jonathan Williams
Jonathan Williams

One hand after his open-ended straight draw cracked the jacks of Michael McKuin and the nut flush draw of Brett Apter (which eliminated Apter), Jonathan Williams raised to 1,500 from the button, then called a three-bet shove for 13,000 from Jeff Sauer in the small blind.

Jeff Sauer: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Jonathan Williams: {a-Diamonds}{3-Spades}

Luck was on Williams' side again after the {3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} flop, and although the {5-Spades} turn gave Sauer chop outs, the {j-Diamonds} river gave Williams his second straight knockout. Sauer and Williams share a fist bump before Sauer left the tournament area.

Koeln Dispatches Claunch

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

Christopher Audrain raised to 2,200 from under the gun, and Joseph Brose called in the hijack. Gerald Claunch three-bet shoved for 32,100 from the button, and Mark Koeln called in the small blind. Audrain tanked for a minute before folding, and Brose quickly followed suit.

"I folded queens," Audrain said.

Gerald Claunch: {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}
Mark Koeln: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

Koeln pulled ahead on the {a-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop, and the {j-Diamonds} turn left Claunch searching for a seven. Audrain shook his head when the {q-Spades} river would've given him a winning set, but instead it was Koeln scooping in the pot and eliminating Claunch.

The final seven players walked away with a piece of the prize pool, and Jacob Book wound up with the win and $3,378 after besting Craig Welko heads-up.

Henrichs Busted By Schroeder

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante
Joshua Henrichs
Joshua Henrichs

Joshua Henrichs had his last 20,000 in chips in preflop from middle position, and both Jeffrey Schroeder in the hijack and Ian Nelson in the cutoff had him at risk.

Both Schroeder and Nelson checked the {2-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{j-Spades} flop, and Schroeder bet 15,000 on the {3-Hearts} turn. Nelson folded.

Joshua Henrichs: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}
Jeffrey Schroeder: {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

"Give me a ten!" Henrichs said, but the {2-Diamonds} instead filled up Schroeder and eliminated in Henrichs.
