Kiletto's Kicker Can't Best Jennings

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

Lily Kiletto bet 1,300 from the small blind on a {k-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Hearts} board, and former HPT Kansas City champ Greg Jennings made the call on the button.

Kiletto bet 6,000 when the {3-Spades} hit the river, and Jennings jammed for 11,200. Kiletto called and tabled {10-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for trips, but Jennings held {a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for trips with a better kicker to earn the double.

Sevens For Khomutetsky

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

Hyndi Khomutetsky raised to 900 from under the gun, and was called by a player in middle position, as well as Daniel Lowery in the cutoff.

Khomutetsky bet 2,300 on the {q-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop, and both of her opponents called.

The {3-Hearts} hit the turn, and Khomutetsky fired again, this time for 6,500. Both of her opponents folded, and Khomutetsky showed {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} before pulling in the pot.

Smith Goes to Value City

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante
Jerod Smith
Jerod Smith

A player limped in from middle position, and Jerod Smith raised to 1,600 from the small blind. The big blind called, as did the limper.

Smith bet 1,500 on the {j-Spades}{5-Spades}{9-Hearts} flop, and only the big blind called.

Both players checked the {3-Spades} turn, and the {3-Diamonds} fell on the river. Smith bet 2,500, and the big blind thought for thirty seconds before committing calling chips. Smith tabled {10-Spades}{10-Clubs} for tens and threes, and the big blind mucked.

Simon Flops the Goods

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

Three players invested 1,600 to see a {q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} flop together, and David Simon checked in the small blind. The hijack checked, and Jonathan Williams bet 2,600. Only Simon called.

Simon led out for 3,500 on the {4-Hearts} turn, and Williams called.

The {7-Hearts} river saw Simon bet 8,000, and Williams called again. Simon tabled {k-Hearts}{10-Spades} for the nuts, and Williams said, "Wow!" before mucking.

Beetz Puts One to the Test

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

Bradley Beetz, who teamed up with Mary Sturges to win Event #8: $400 Tag Team earlier in the series, checked a {k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{9-Clubs} board from the small blind, and the cutoff bet 2,500 into a pot of 9,000.

Beetz responded with a check-raise to 15,000, and the cutoff, who had 17,100 remaining in his stack, went deep into the tank. Two minutes ticked by before the cutoff folded, and Beetz raked in the pot.

Kinder's Turn to Take One

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

A player limped in from under the gun, and Nick Pupillo raised to 2,000 from middle position. Kyle Kinder called from the hijack, as did the under-the-gun player.

Action checked to Kinder on a {10-Spades}{7-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop, and he bet 2,000. Only the under-the-gun player called.

The {6-Hearts} turn was checked by the under-the-gun player, and Kinder bet 5,000. Kinder's opponent folded.

Pickler Picks the Right Spot

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

Jeffrey Copeland, who shipped Event #10: $300 Six-Max earlier in the series, raised to 1,200 from middle position, and John Utley called in the cutoff. Keith Pickler three-bet to 3,200 from the button, and both Copeland and Utley called.

Action checked to Pickler on a {3-Spades}{10-Spades}{8-Hearts} flop, and he simply moved all in for 16,400. Copeland folded, while Utley went into the tank. After a minute, he counted down his stack, then placed calling chips in the pot.

Keith Pickler: {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}
John Utley: {k-Clubs}{3-Clubs}

Pickler's nines still had to fade a three or king to survive, and they did just that on the {10-Diamonds} turn and {2-Spades} river.

"Well, I was wrong!" Utley said with a grin, taking the loss in good-natured stride.
