Sapiano Fares Better on Reentry

Level 2 : Blinds 100/100, 0 ante

Ian Simpson raised from early position to 300. Albert Sapiano called from the hijack, as did Eugenio Peralta from the cutoff. John Howlett then made it 1,800 to go from the button, which received a call from small blind Kevin O'Donnell as well as the three players already involved in the pot.

The five players saw the flop of {4-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}, and they all checked. The {9-Clubs} turn saw the action check to Sapiano, who put out a bet of 3,500. Only Simpson was interested in seeing a river, and put in a call.

Simpson checked the {j-Clubs} river, and Sapiano fired out a bet of 14,000. Simpson took a final glance at his cards before throwing them into the muck, forfeiting the pot to Sapiano.

Three Bets are the Charm for Forman

Miroslav Forman

The action was caught on a flop of {5-Spades}{6-Clubs}{10-Clubs} with a pot totaling 2,400 thus far. Mahmood Rasheed had checked from the small blind, as had Miroslav Forman from the big blind. Cutoff Panagiotis Mavritsakis put out a bet of 1,300, and button Pavel Plotnikov called.

Rasheed then raised the bet to 4,500. Forman thought for a while before announcing a three-bet to 9,000. Mavritsakis and Plotnikov quickly folded, as did Rasheed, albeit more reluctantly.

Harris' Kings Bust Ward

Level 3 : Blinds 100/200, 0 ante

John Ward in middle position had an all-in triangle and 6,500 chips in front of him on a flop of {5-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{9-Spades} and roughly 3,500 chips already in the middle. Small blind David Harris had looked him up, and the pair revealed their holdings:

John Ward: {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}
David Harris: {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

Harris' Kings held on the {3-Spades} turn and {2-Diamonds} river, and Ward was eliminated from the tournament. Harris in his turn took Ward's chips to climb back up to starting stack

Murnaghan Goes Deep in the Tank and Finds a Double

Level 3 : Blinds 100/200, 0 ante
Aubrey Murnaghan
Aubrey Murnaghan

The action was caught on the turn, with 2,900 chips in the middle. The board read {8-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and Chan Wang put out a bet of 2,700. Aubrey Murnaghan on the button upped the amount to 6,000 and Wang swiftly called.

The river fell the {7-Spades} and Wang promptly put all his chips in the middle, covering Murnaghan's remaining stack of 7,600. Murnaghan mulled it over for several minutes, before eventually putting in the call.

Wang tried to muck his cards but was forced to show {10-Clubs}{8-Hearts} as the hand concerned an all-in situation. Murnaghan turned over {k-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for a bare top pair, which was enough to take down the pot and double him back up to starting stack.

Kissous Likes His Bluff

Level 4 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

John Lagan raised to 700 from early position and got calls from Brandon Sheils on the hijack, Shane Holohan on the cutoff, and Mourad Kissous in the big blind.

The flop came down a monotone {5-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{4-Hearts}, and Lagan continuation-bet for 1,500 after a check from Kissous. Sheils wanted to see a turn and called, as did Kissous.

The {3-Diamonds} turn fell and this prompted Kissous to lead out for 4,000 chips. Lagan matched the bet and Sheils let his hand go.

On the {q-Diamonds} river Kissous put the remainder of his chips in, covering Lagan's 17,800 stack. Lagan thought for a while but ended up passing his cards to the dealer. Kissous laughed nervously while he raked in the chips and showed {5-Clubs}{2-Clubs}, emphasizing that he really did not want to see a call from Lagan.

Dempsey Is Done

Level 4 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

The hand was already on the river when the action was caught. On a board of {5-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{2-Clubs} Mircea Rus had checked from the small blind and Hugo Dempsey shoved all in for 11,700 chips, almost double the 6,000 that were in the middle.

Rus did not have to think long before putting in the call, and Dempsey had nothing higher to show than {k-Hearts}{10-Spades} for king-high. Rus was crushing that with {a-Spades}{a-Clubs} for top set, and stacked Dempsey's last chips on top of his own.
