Roberts Tries to Get Georgiou

Level 3 : Blinds 100/200, 0 ante

There was 9,000 in the middle when George Shek from under the gun, Junior Roberts from early position, and Eftychios Georgiou from middle position saw a flop.

The dealer put out {5-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds} and the action checked to Georgiou, who bet 5,200. Shek got out of the way before Roberts made the call.

The {j-Diamonds} turn saw both players check and the {10-Spades} river graced the felt. Roberts eyed his opponent's stack and gave Georgiou a good staredown before putting in 9,000 chips.

Georgiou was seemingly in a difficult spot as he could only recount hands he could not beat. Still, he put in the call after a while and got shown that his {a-Hearts}{7-Spades} was good against Roberts' {9-Spades}{8-Hearts}.

Jason Barton
Jason Barton

Joseph Macari raised from middle position and was called by Jason Barton. All others folded and two players went to the flop.

The flop came {j-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{9-Clubs} and Macari made it 600 to go. Barton was not deterred and made the call. The turn was the {3-Spades} and Macari bet out again for 1,600, which Barton called.

The river was the {2-Hearts}. Macari fired a third time and Barton made the call. Macari showed {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} for a pair of jacks and Barton showed {a-Spades}{j-Spades} for a pair of jacks with the ace kicker.

Kassouf Is in the Building

Level 3 : Blinds 100/200, 0 ante
Will Kassouf
Will Kassouf

The unmistakable sound of Will Kassouf's voice was heard in the halls of the Royal Dublin Society. When PokerNews arrived at his table, he was involved in what was reportedly a four-bet pot preflop.

The hand had progressed to the turn on a board of {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} and Kassouf had bet 9,600 chips from the big blind into a pot of 13,100. Stephen Kehoe was in the hijack and was visibly unhappy with the situation. Kassouf declared ''Ace-king is no good'', and that seemingly convinced Kehoe to lay his hand down.

By winning the hand Kassouf increased his stack to a total of over two starting stacks.

Level 3 : Blinds 100/200, 0 ante

Neil Higgins raised and Ultan Flynn reraised. Ioan Filip made the call and the original raiser folded. Two players went to the flop.

The dealer turned over {5-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}, Flynn bet 2,000 and Filip called. The turn was the {j-Spades} and both players checked. On the {3-Hearts} river, both players once again checked.

Flynn showed {q-Hearts}{q-} for pocket queens and Filip showed {k-Clubs}{k-Spades} for pocket kings to win the pot.

Janik Pairs River to Eliminate Bennett-Martin

Level 4 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante
Elizabeth Bennett-Martin
Elizabeth Bennett-Martin

Action folded around to Frederik Janik, who shoved from the small blind. Elizabeth Bennett-Martin called in the big blind. Both players were short stacked but it was Bennett-Martin who was at risk.

Elizabeth Bennett-Martin: {a-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}
Frederik Janik: {a-Spades}{3-Spades}

The board ran out {2-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{3-Hearts}. It looked as though players were set for a chopped pot until Janik hit a pair of threes on the river to take the chips and eliminate Bennett-Martin from the tournament.

Slater Does Not Like His Kings

Level 4 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Christian Malm opened the action from under the gun with a raise to 600. Joseph Gibson and Colette Murphy called from middle position and the hijack respectively, before small blind Tim Slater made it 4,000 to go. Only Gibson made the call and the two were off to the flop.

{a-Spades}{7-Spades}{8-Spades} was said flop and Slater continuation-bet for 3,500. Gibson piled in 19,000 of his chips in response, only leaving 1,500 back. Slater instantly threw his {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} face-up towards the middle of the table, frustratedly remarking that he did not even have the king of spades for a flush draw.

Three Bets, No Pairs

Level 4 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante
Ian Simpson
Ian Simpson

Bram Berkvens opened to 600 from middle position and the action folded to Ian Simpson in the small blind. He put in the three-bet to 2,400 and Berkvens called after pondering his options for a while.

The flop of {2-Clubs}{8-Spades}{9-Hearts} saw Simpson continuation-bet for 1,700, which Berkvens called as well.

The turn {8-Diamonds} and river {6-Diamonds} saw no further betting as both players checked it down. Simpson showed {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs} and the ace-high was good enough to win this relatively small pot.
