Fintan Hand and Tudor Neacsu were in a blind-on-blind battle for a pot of 2,100 chips. On a completed board of Hand bet more than twice that pot with a bet of 4,500. This was too much for Neacsu, who felt forced to let his hand go.
Steve O'Dwyer raised to 1,200 from the button and Devin D'souza made it 3,600 to go from the small blind. O'Dwyer then put in the four-bet jam, barely covering his opponent's 36,400 stack.

A big flip was happening between the two players. D'souza sprung ahead with the window card of and won the pot as the board ran out .
O'Dwyer was left with only a few big blinds, which later went in with in a four-way pot. O'Dwyer did not emerge as the victor on the board and he immediately sought the reentry desk.
Willem de Jong and Ian Simpson were on the river with a huge sum of 36,000 chips already in the middle. The board read and De Jong had checked from early position to Simpson in the seat next over.
Simpson piled in his remaining stack of 33,100. This size made De Jong suspicious. ''Why so much?'', he asked Simpson before putting in some calling chips moments later.
Simpson excitedly declared ''Kings'', as he showed . De Jong was forced to show his for an attempted hero call with bottom pair and was left with a stack of around 12 big blinds.
Sonia Padovani raised and Jokin Cendoya moved all in. Padovani called and players flipped their cards, with Cendoya at risk.

The board ran out to give Padovani a pair of aces on the flop. Cendoya called for a nine on the river to make his straight but it didn't come. Padovani held and eliminated Cendoya from the tournament.
When the action was caught the flop of was already dealt. There were 3,500 chips in the middle and big blind Joshua Bruce went all-in after a check from small blind Francis Hogan. Anthony Harnden was in the cutoff and made the call, as did Hogan.
The turn brought the and Hogan checked again. Harnden now went all in for 13,500. Hogan took some time before realizing that the turn had completed his flush draw and immediately called apologetically after that had dawned on him. All three of the players' cards were shown.

Spades in some capacity for everyone, but Hogan's second nut flush held on the river. He raked in the pot while apologizing once more, and the other two players will have to try their luck with a new stack if they want to make it to Day 2.
Carl Dobrzelewski and Sonia Padovani were contending for a 9,800 pot on the flop of . Dobrzelewski bet 6,600 from the big blind and Padovani called from the hijack.
The was turned and Dobrzelewski continued with a bet of 16,000. Padovani counted her own stack and cut out the necessary chips for a call.
The river was the and Dobrzelewski now went all-in for 23,400. Padovani needed to have a good think about it and contemplated out loud whether she would make a hero call. In the end, she decided to do so, as she matched Dobrzelewski's bet and put the chips forward.
Dobrzelewski showed and Padovani mucked her cards, complimenting the hand of her opponent.
