Obadun Raises the Flop and Takes It Down

Level 8 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Francis Obadun raised to 1,500 from middle position and received calls from Tom Brady in the hijack and Christian Baumdicker in the small blind. Jimmy De Barros was in the big blind and upped the ante to 8,500 chips. Obadun called while the other two players got out of the way.

The dealer brought forth the {7-Spades}{a-Clubs}{10-Spades} flop and De Barros continuation-bet for 4,000. Obadun raised to 14,000, essentially putting De Barros all-in. De Barros mulled it over for a bit but decided on a fold, leaving himself with just over half a starting stack.

Keogh's Eliminated After Aces Cracked

Level 8 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

The chips were flying and the pot already built on the turn as Patrick Gillespie and Frank Keogh were all in, Keogh being the player at risk.

The board was {q-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} when players flipped their cards.

Frank Keogh: {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}
Patrick Gillespie: {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}

Keogh had pocket aces but Gillespie had a set of queens.

The {10-Hearts} on the river changed nothing. Gillespie won the pot and Keogh was eliminated from the tournament.

Miscikowski Misses with His Three-Bet

Level 8 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante
David Miscikowski
David Miscikowski

Alexander Regler made it 1,800 from the hijack and small blind David Miscikowski three-bet to 5,100. Regler made the call and the two saw a {a-Clubs}{10-Spades}{3-Hearts} flop, which both players checked.

The {j-Hearts} turn came and Miscikowski checked to Regler again. Regler found it time to bet this time, putting forth 4,500 chips. Miscikowski called and the {6-Hearts} river rolled off.

This card slowed the action down again, with both players checking once more. Regler showed his {a-Spades}{q-Spades} first and it was good enough to scoop this small three-bet pot.

Lepelaars Five-Bets and Busts

Level 8 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

There was plenty of action preflop in this hand and it all started with Maxim Fana who raised from under the gun to 1,300. Jorge Weber then called from the next seat over, before Aleksandras Nagreckis made it 4,500 to go from the button.

This is when the fireworks really started, as small blind Nkosana Matlhong made it 10,300 before Wilhelmus Lepelaars five-bet jammed all-in for 21,100. Everyone but Matlhong quickly got out of the way, and he exclaimed that he was committed and had to call. Lepelaars tried to change his mind, but Matlhong put in the calling chips to put Lepelaars at risk.

Wilhelmus Lepelaars: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}
Nkosana Matlhong: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

{8-Spades}{6-Spades}{j-Spades}{10-Spades}{10-Hearts}

Matlhong flopped a set, and since neither player had a spade that was enough to win the pot. Lepelaars left the tournament area, dejected by his cracked kings.
