Level 11 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
James Hartigan
James Hartigan

Legendary PokerStars commentator James Hartigan bought back in at the start of Day 2 and sat down with a starting stack. A few hands in to the day, he raised from early position and got called by Andrew Lee in the small blind.

The flop came {10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}. Lee checked and Hartigan continued for 2,500. Lee reshoved and Hartigan quickly called. Players flipped their cards.

Andrew Lee: {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
James Hartigan: {j-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

Lee had top pair and Hartigan had a straight and flush combo draw with overcards, giving him loads of outs. The turn came {5-Clubs} and the river was {q-Spades}. The river brought Hartigan a pair of queens and he doubled up early. Could this be his time to shine?

Simpson Gives Up on the River

Level 12 : Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Ian Simpson
Ian Simpson

Ian Simpson and John Ward were involved in a pot of 6,500. Ward bet 3,000 on the flop of {5-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds} after a check from Simpson. Simpson called the bet and the {2-Spades} turn was dealt.

Ward now raised the stakes to a sizable 11,400 after another check from Simpson. Again, the former champion obliged with a call and the {6-Hearts} river hit the felt.

Simpson checked once more and Ward instantly put Simpson all-in for his remaining 61,000 chips. Simpson counted his stack but found the bet too large to look up and folded his hand.
