Gilligan Last to Leave Before Three Table Bubble

Level 29 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Michael Gilligan
Michael Gilligan

There was 800,000 in the middle in a blind-on-blind battle between Declan Rice and Michael Gilligan. The hand was on the turn when the action was caught, on a board reading {3-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}. Gilligan had checked to Rice, who put out a bet of 400,000. Gilligan raised that bet to 1,355,000 putting himself all-in.

Rice stood up from his chair while getting the exact count, needing to get the blood flowing to make this big decision. Eventually, he called as the covering player.

Michael Gilligan: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Declan Rice: {j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}

Gilligan had flopped top pair, but was outdrawn on the turn by Rice with two pair. The river {6-Clubs} changed nothing and Gilligan gracefully left the felt.

Gilligan was eliminated in 26th place for €9,150, meaning that we are on the bubble for the final three table redraw.

Carl Shaw: {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}

Darren Harbinson
Darren Harbinson

Darren Harbinson raised from under the gun to 125,000 and Benny Glaser reraised to 375,000 from the big blind.

The flop came {5-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{10-Hearts}. Glaser shoved all in for Harbinson's stack of around 1,200,000. Harbinson thought for a moment before throwing his hand on its back. He showed {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}.

Glaser, however, had it this time. He flipped over {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} for pocket aces.

The turn came the {a-Hearts} to further improve Glaser's hand to a set of aces. The river was the {k-Spades} and Glaser scooped the pot of a couple of million. Harbinson was eliminated in 30th place for €7,900.

That brings Glaser back towards the top of the table as we move closer to the three table redraw.
