Rough Smooth Call for Murphy

Level 23 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Jamie Wynne opened from the hijack to 40,000 before Carl Shaw, who started today as chip leader, three-bet from the cutoff to 125,000. Thomas Murphy was on the button and decided to flat call before the action folded back to Wynne again.

Wynne did not want to partake in this action and let his hand go, leading the dealer to collect the chips and deal the flop: {4-Hearts}{3-Spades}{a-Clubs}. Shaw continuation-bet for 45,000 and Wynne folded after a quick repeak at his cards.

Shaw is expanding his stack steadily, now playing over 2 million chips.

Gillespie Goes for the Check-Raise

Level 23 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Neil O'Reilly was in the cutoff and opened the action with a raise to 45,000. Only big blind Patrick Gillespie obliged and the two were off to the flop.

On {6-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} Gillespie checked before raising O'Reilly's 40,000 continuation-bet to 115,000. O'Reilly put in three T-25,000 chips more for the call and the turn was dealt.

On the {4-Clubs} turn Gillespie bet again, this time for the large sum of 275,000. This was too much for O'Reilly as he let his hand go.

Gillespie told his adversary that he had a good hand while he added enough chips to his stack to shoot over a million.

Laba Loses Flip and is Eliminated

Level 24 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Scott Kahler was all in from early position for 330,000 chips and Vasyl Laba also moved all in. All other players folded and two players flipped their cards, with Laba the player at risk.

Vasyl Laba: {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}
Scott Kahler: {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}

The board ran out {10-Spades}{2-Spades}{5-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}. Laba didn't improve, so Kahler's pocket eights held up. Laba was eliminated from the tournament in 80th place for €4,550.

Hofer Bests Molenaar in Flip

Level 24 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

In the previous level, Jurgen Hofer and Michel Molenaar were all-in preflop on the feature table. Hofer opened from early position to 40,000 and Molenaar made it 120,000 from the small blind. Hofer then four-bet all in for 245,000 and received a quick call from Molenaar.

Jurgen Hofer: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}
Michel Molenaar: {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

Hofer flopped the world on{5-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{a-Spades}, leaving Molenaar drawing to one direct out. The turn {4-Hearts} locked up the pot for Hofer as he made the nut flush and he rivered a meaningless bonus {a-Clubs} to put some salt in Molenaar's wound.

Even having lost the pot, Molenaar is still sitting comfortably on a healthy stack of more than 50 big blinds.

Worthington-Leese Shoves and Busts

Level 24 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Leo Worthington-Leese
Leo Worthington-Leese

Leo Worthington-Leese shoved all in from late position with a relatively short stack. He was called by Jamie Wynne and the cards were flipped on their backs.

Leo Worthington-Leese: {k-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Jamie Wynne: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

The board ran out {2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}. Both players hit a pair of kings on the flop and Wynne had the better kicker. The river brought Wynne two pair with his aces and he won the pot. Worthington-Leese busted the tournament in 73rd place.

Wynne, meanwhile, brought his chip stack up to over 1,500,000.

Pontos Ponders His Four-Bet

Level 24 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Panteleimon Pontos opened from the cutoff to 50,000 and Kevin O'Donnell three-bet to 170,000.

Pontos went deep into the tank, long enough that the table felt the need to call the clock on him. During his countdown, Pontos decided to four-bet jam all-in for over 500,000 chips. O'Donnell instantly called and Pontos showed his hand reluctantly.

Panteleimon Pontos: {a-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Kevin O'Donnell: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

Pontos had put his stack at risk with a daring four-bet bluff, but was a big dog against O'Donnell's dominating ace. Pontos turned a flush draw on the {7-Spades}{j-Hearts}{3-Spades}{4-Spades} runout. The {6-Clubs} river had the right color but the wrong suit for Pontos to stay alive.

He left the tournament area while O'Donnell won a big pot to soar up the ranks.

Glaser Makes Trips to Win Three-Way All In

Level 24 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Benny Glaser
Benny Glaser

Benny Glaser raised from under the gun with {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and Jurgen Hofer made it 145,000 with {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}, Jurgen Reichert called all in for 140,000 holding {a-Spades}{q-Clubs} and Glaser called.

The flop came {10-Hearts}{3-Spades}{8-Spades} and Hofer jammed for 345,000. Glaser made the call and it looked like he was set to lose the hand.

The turn came the {3-Hearts} and the river was the {10-Clubs}. That gave Glaser trips and he eliminated both Reichert and Hofer from the event.

Glaser, who won the €5,000 Irish Open High Roller just a few days ago, now has 1,300,000 chips and is in serious contention for the title.
