Maguire Says His Goodbyes

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Rui Da Costa Dias had opened from the cutoff to 60,000 and button Cole Maguire went all-in for his last ten big blinds or so. Rory Curtis was in the big blind and followed suit by jamming his own stack in the middle, worth 635,000.

Dias asked for a count, mulled it over for a while, and eventually folded. The other two players were now at the mercy of the deck.

Cole Maguire: {k-Hearts}{j-Spades}
Rory Curtis: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

Maguire had three clean outs to hit if he wanted to stay alive in the Main Event, but no kings were found on the {4-Spades}{4-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{7-Spades}{a-Diamonds} board. Maguire collected his payout and Curtis increased his stack to over one million.

Rankin Heroes Heldens

Level 25 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

The action folded around to Sjors Heldens on the button, who limped in for the minimum 30,000. Small blind Rory Curtis folded before Daniel Rankin chose to see a free flop in the big blind.

The Broadway board of {10-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{k-Spades} was dealt and Rankin checked to Heldens. Heldens bet 75,000 into the pot and Rankin called.

The turn {k-Diamonds} was checked around before the action got back to Helden on the {4-Diamonds} river. He decided to bet 200,000 on the board with four diamonds. Rankin thought for a while and eventually put in a single chip to signify a call.

Neither player had diamonds as Heldens showed {10-Spades}{9-Clubs} for a pair of tens. Upon seeing Heldens' hand, Rankin turned his holding over in an elated manner, showing the hero call with a pair of queens: {q-Spades}{8-Spades}.

Rankin chipped up to over one million, while Heldens was left with less than 20 big blinds.
