Da Costa Dias Busts Through Rare Double Check-Raise Move

Level 29 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Rui Da Costa Dias
Rui Da Costa Dias

A huge pot just happened between Carl Shaw and Rui Da Costa Dias. It all started when Shaw opened his button for 160,000. Da Costa Dias three-bet from the small blind to 440,000 and Shaw called.

The flop was {7-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{2-Spades} and Da Costa Dias saw a reason to slow down and check. Shaw then put in 230,000 chips, which Da Costa Dias sneakily raised to 900,000. Shaw called the large sum and the {3-Diamonds} turn was dealt.

The same motions happened on the turn when Da Costa Dias opted for another check and Shaw bet for 580,000. Da Costa Dias was in the tank for a while before he chose to jam his 1,600,000 remaining chips in the middle. Shaw snap called with the covering stack and both players tabled their cards.

Rui Da Costa Dias: {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Carl Shaw: {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}

Da Costa Dias was drawing dead and already said his goodbyes to the table before the meaningless {k-Spades} was dealt to finish the board. he took home €9,150 for his efforts.

Gilligan Last to Leave Before Three Table Bubble

Level 29 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Michael Gilligan
Michael Gilligan

There was 800,000 in the middle in a blind-on-blind battle between Declan Rice and Michael Gilligan. The hand was on the turn when the action was caught, on a board reading {3-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}. Gilligan had checked to Rice, who put out a bet of 400,000. Gilligan raised that bet to 1,355,000 putting himself all-in.

Rice stood up from his chair while getting the exact count, needing to get the blood flowing to make this big decision. Eventually, he called as the covering player.

Michael Gilligan: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Declan Rice: {j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}

Gilligan had flopped top pair, but was outdrawn on the turn by Rice with two pair. The river {6-Clubs} changed nothing and Gilligan gracefully left the felt.

Gilligan was eliminated in 26th place for €9,150, meaning that we are on the bubble for the final three table redraw.

Rory Curtis open-jammed his last million or so chips from middle position. Jamie Wynne was sitting in the cutoff and put his own stack in the middle, covering his opponent. The rest of the table got out of the way and the players were off to the races.

Rory Curtis: {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts}
Jamie Wynne: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
