Stavrakis Surrenders Some Chips
Level 9
: Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Dan Samson and Edouardos Stavrakis were heads up on a turn of 8♥Q♠7♠6♦, with 26,500 chips already in the pot. Samson checked from the hijack and Stavrakis followed suit on the button.
The 7♣ river then completed the board and saw Samson make a bet of 12,000. Stavrakis quickly flicked in a call and Samson tabled 9♣5♣ for a straight.
Thinking he had won, Stavrakis flipped over his A♠10♠, but he quickly saw that the pot was shipped to Samson. Meanwhile, defending champion David Docherty is also at this table and has doubled his starting stack.
