Laurila Creates Gap
Level 39
: Blinds 500,000/1,000,000, 1,000,000 ante
Mark Johnston raised to 2,000,000 on the button with A♠Q♣ and Tero Laurila defended his big blind with J♠6♠.
The flop was J♣3♦K♠ and Laurila checked to Johnston, who made a bet of 1,400,000 chips. Laurila made the call with his pair of jacks and saw the 9♦ turn roll off.
Both contestants checked, as did they on the subsequent 8♦ river. Laurila won the small pot to gain a slight edge over Johnston.
