With late registration on Day 1d still ongoing, the prize pool of the 2024 Irish Open Main Event has been pushed past the €3,000,000 mark, standing at €3,011,775 at the time of writing.
Alex O'Brien raised to 3,200 from early position and George McKeever shoved all in from the small blind for 18,200.
O'Brien weighed her options for a while but eventually decided to call to put McKeever at risk.
George McKeever: J♠J♥
Alex O'Brien: 7♠7♥
The 5♦2♠4♥9♣K♠ flop did not bring a seven and McKeever doubled up to just over a starting stack as a result.

The massive starting flight of Day 1c saw 1,459 entries being made. Out of those, 624 players are still in contention to secure a bag for Day 2. Whoever survives will need to make it through four more levels before doing so.
Meanwhile, the turbo flight Day 1d is also underway with 374 entries on the clock and five levels of late registration left to go.
Thomas Kitt jammed his final 22,400 chips in from the button and Gareth Hamilton looked him up from the small blind with the covering stack.
Thomas Kitt: Q♣9♣
Gareth Hamilton: J♥J♠
The J♦10♥4♣ flop made Hamilton a set but Kitt was still alive with his straight draw. However, it did not come in on the Q♦7♥ runout and Kitt left the tournament area, ready to smoke a cigar outside.

Nikolas Metaxas and Michel Molenaar were looking at a board of 4♠8♦4♦K♣. Metaxas made a bet of 3,600 and Molenaar called.
The 10♣ river then rolled off and Metaxas slowed down with a check. Molenaar piled a sizable 13,000 chips in the middle and Metaxas called after thinking it over for a few minutes.
Molenaar showed down K♥Q♣ for top pair and Metaxas nodded before adding his cards to the muck.

Kwan Chan in the small blind and Eoin Gleeson in the big blind had created a pot of 70,000 chips when they arrived on the turn of 7♣3♥10♥10♦, which they both checked.
The 10♠ river was then dealt and Chan checked once more. Gleeson, however, announced his all-in for 42,400. Chan spent some minutes in the tank before finally committing to a call.
"You're good," Gleeson declared before showing his A♠Q♠ for ace-high. Chan tabled J♠J♦ for a full house and scooped up a very big pot while Gleeson was left empty-handed.
