Parker Talbot Finally Nails First Live Poker Win at 2024 Irish Open

Level 6 : Blinds 200/500, 500 ante
Parker Talbot
Parker Talbot

In a poetic twist reminiscent of the lyrics from the late Sinead O'Connor's "Nothing Compares 2 U," the poker community witnessed a remarkable milestone at the 2024 Irish Open as PokerStars ambassador Parker Talbot claimed his inaugural live poker tournament victory. Just as the song's melancholic protagonist endured "seven hours and fifteen days" of heartache, Talbot's journey to triumph spanned a remarkable 4,363 days since his first-ever cash on the live felt.

Talbot removed the monkey from his back in the Luxon Pay €5,000 High Roller 8-Max, besting the 111-entry field that featured a stacked final table that included the likes of 2023 WSOP Online Main Event champion Bert Stevens and 2023 EPT Prague Main Event winner Padraig O'Neill.

Fountoukidis Adds to Big Stack

Level 5 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Frank Koopmann had three-bet Kimon Fountoukidis preflop, leading to a pot of 7,000 on a flop of 10Q5. Koopmann continued for 4,500 and Fountoukidis check-called. The 9 turn was subsequentially checked by both players before the 4 river arrived.

Fountoukidis promptly led out for 25,000, enough to put his opponent all in. Koopmann did not need much time before surrendering his cards, and Fantoukidis increased his already big stack by a little more.

Savaria Ships Big Four-Bet Pot

Level 4 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante

Antoine Savaria, Grzegorz Kozieja, Thibault Saillard, and Max Broens were four-way to a flop of 10A9. With 15,500 in the middle already, all players checked before the 5 turn was dealt.

Savaira decided to bet 7,500 and found one caller in Kozieja. On the 10 river, Savaria sized up to 10,500, around half his stack. Kozieja mulled it over for a bit but eventually put in a call.

Savaria showed AJ for two pair and Kozieja nodded before mucking his cards.
