Double Ups for Luo and Cates

Level 15 : Blinds 0/0, 25,000 ante

At the same time on neighbouring tables, two short stacks earned double-ups.

Dan Cates was all-in for slightly more than 20 antes with the QJ and at risk against Esti Wang with the KQ. The board came KJ8J7 and Cates made trips jacks.

Guang Hui Luo jammed in the cutoff for 255,000 with the Q10 and big stack Kobe called in the big blind with the A9. Luo nailed the KQJ76 runout to survive, too.

Level 15 : Blinds 0/0, 25,000 ante

Over on table four, Feng pushed all-in for around 750,000 and Ke Xu did so from the cutoff with the covering stack to isolate.

Feng: 1010
Ke Xu: AK

The flip went to Xu on a board of KJ9JA and that reduced the field to the final 16 hopefuls with the top 12 spots paid.

Zhou Jams Into Xu

Level 15 : Blinds 0/0, 25,000 ante

The two chip leaders Da Seng Sun and Kobe have been open-shoving a lot to increase their stack sizes.

Quan Zhou did it the old-fashioned way with poker on all streets when he bet the Q86A turn for 325,000 and Fei Xu called. Zhou jammed the 9 river and Xu folded.

Cates Back With a Double

Level 14 : Blinds 0/0, 20,000 ante
Dan Cates
Dan Cates

Dan Cates started the day with a full entry and add-on for two times the starting stack and he lost a chunk of that.

Ultimately, however, Cates earned a double off Gavin when he raised a three-way turn of 9887 from 50,000 to 200,000. Only Gavin called and reluctantly paid off the shove for 370,000 on the 7 river. Cates showed 106 for a straight and that was good enough.
