First Showdown Goes to Runcan
Level 20
: Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Paul Runcan raised to 160,000 under the gun. It folded all the way to Davit Mikhanashvili in the big blind, who defended.
After the players had checked the 4♣10♦5♦ flop, Mikhanashvili bet 130,000 on the 5♥ turn. Runcan called to the K♠ river, which was checked to showdown.
Mikhanashvili slammed open A♥4♥ for fives and fours, but Runcan had the better hand with 9♠9♣, and his pocket pair awarded him the pot.
