Paul Craciunas raised to 500,000 from the cutoff, leaving himself 5,000 behind the line in light of a looming pay jump. PopicuSTAR, in the big blind, made the call.
On the Q♠2♥8♠ flop, PopicuSTAR, despite being the covering stack, used the full 30 seconds of his clock before checking in an effort to help Craciunas make the pay jump. Craciunas also used his full 30 seconds.
Both players elongated their checks on the 4♣ turn and the 5♠ river, finally tabling their hands.
Paul Craciunas: J♦9♣
PopicuSTAR: A♥3♣
Craciunas was behind at showdown and was left with just one chip to survive the pay jump.
