Day 1b of The Big Wrap Kicks Off at 4PM!

Feature Table at King's Casino
Feature Table at King's Casino

In one hour from now the second and final live starting day of the 2019 The Big Wrap kicks off at King's Casino and Resort in Rozvadov near the border to Germany. The tournament comes with a price tag of €2,350 and a guaranteed prize pool of €1,000,000, which certainly gathers the attention of four-card poker lovers from near and far to showcase their Pot-Limit Omaha (PLO) skills at the tables.

The first live Day 1 attracted a field of 128 players and 52 hopefuls punched their tickets last night. On top of that, 10 players out of 20 entries also claimed a stack to their name on the virtual felt via event co-sponsor partypoker. Anton Morgenstern topped the online Day 1 with an impressive stack of 535,000 and he sits in third place behind Day 1a chip leader Sergey Verkhoturov (1,070,000) and Didier Rabl (726,000).

Whether or not anyone will be able to turn their 100,000 starting stack into more than that remains to be seen in the hours to come as the second flight is scheduled to play 12 levels of 40 minutes each. There will be a break every three levels and a 60-minute dinner break after the completion of level six.

The late registration and re-entry period for the event remains open all Day 1 and in the first two 40-minute levels on Day 2. All players have the option to re-enter twice per Day 1 and on Day 2, and the best stack forward applies if participants should bag up more than once. The only player to do so on partypoker and Day 1a was King's regular The Talk.

On a three-way flop of {a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{6-Clubs}, Serhii Surkis checked out of the big blind and Tomasz Kozub bet 1,600 on the button. Only Surkis called and checked again the {q-Spades} turn, on which he called a second barrel for 4,400.

On the {3-Spades} river, Surkis check-called a third bet of 7,000 after long consideration and Kozub turned over {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{10-Spades}{2-Spades} for a set of tens to scoop a nice pot early on.

The {7-Spades} turn was checked and Jachtmann bet the {5-Hearts} river for 10,500, which resulted in a fold from Karlos and a call from Viard. Jachtmann tabled the {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} for the nut straight and claimed the pot.

Karras and Schedlberger Cash Again

Level 3 : 200/400, 0 ante
Karl Schedlberger
Karl Schedlberger

After their previous tangle in a smaller pot, Karl Schedlberger and Athanasios Karras met once again and this time by far more chips went into the middle.

The completed board showed {j-Clubs}{6-Spades}{6-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{10-Spades} and Karras check-raised from 25,000 to 50,000. Schedlinger quickly pushed all in and that stunned Karras. "Do you have quads?" he asked and got no immediate answer.

Eventually, Schedlberger joined the conversation and asked his opponent whether or not he had ace-ten or ace-jack. Karras took another half a minute of consideration and folded.

Yordanov Karagogov
Yordanov Karagogov

On a flop of {q-Spades}{9-Clubs}{7-Spades}, Yizhaq Hay check-raised and Yordanov Karagogov called to see the {4-Hearts} turn on which Hay bet the pot for 90,000. Karagogov called and the {10-Spades} on the river slowed down Hay, who checked. Karagogov moved all in and Hay gave it just short consideration before making the call.

Karagogov turned over {j-Spades}{10-Clubs}{8-Spades}{3-Clubs} for a wrap that had gotten there and he doubled for 116,700, as Hay only had {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for a set of queens.

On a {q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} flop, Andrej Imrich reraised the pot to 85,000 and Umberto Vitagliano made the call with around 80,000 behind.
