Andrei Volodtsenkov Eliminated in 7th Place (€11,600)

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Just like that, the tournament is down to six players with both Estonians hitting the felt. Andrei Volodtsenkov was just eliminated in seventh place for €11,600.

We were earlier informed that Volodtsenkov qualified for the Main Event through working up the online satellites at OlyBet Poker starting at €3.30. Volodtsenkov shared after his elimination that he actually got in for free by winning a freeroll satellite for the €3.30 ticket. Not a bad pay day for the local player.

It was a bit of a cooler for Volodtsenkov. Chip leader Jari Saviaho opened to 150,000 from the small blind with {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} before Volodtsenkov jammed for 790,000 with {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}. Saviaho called and his hand held up the entire way with the {4-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{9-Spades}{8-Diamonds} appearing on the board.

Saviaho became the first player to pass the 3 million chip count in the tournament and the remaining six players are all guaranteed a €15,200 payday.

Kaupo Tenno Eliminated in 8th Place (€8,460)

Kaupo Tenno

Bahadir Hatipoglu opened to 125,000 from the cutoff with {10-Spades}{10-Hearts} and Kaupo Tenno defended his big blind with {q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}.

Tenno with top pair checked after the {9-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Clubs} came on the flop. Hatipoglu with an overpair bet 310,000 and Tenno jammed for a little more to 365,000. Hatipoglu called and Tenno was in rough shape.

The {3-Diamonds} on the turn and the {a-Clubs} on the river were unable to save Tenno and he was eliminated in eighth place for €8,460. The remaining seven players are now all guaranteed a payout of at least €11,600.

Zavorotnijs Gets Some Breathing Room

Vitalijs Zavorotnjs
Vitalijs Zavorotnjs

Vitalijs Zavorotnijs entered the day with just six big blinds. After the following hand he has some breathing room.

Jari Saviaho opened from the button with {8-Hearts}{7-Spades} to 80,000. Andrei Volodtsenkov called from the small blind with {a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} before Zazvorotnijs jammed from the big blind with {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}. Saviaho four-bet to 320,000 and Volodysenkov folded.

The flop came {7-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} giving Saviaho a pair and Zavorotnijs an open-ended straight draw and over cards. The {5-Spades} on the turn didn't help Zavorotnijs. However, the {10-Clubs} gave Zavortnijs the hand, while Saviaho's stack took a small dent.
