Aasmaa Hits the Rail

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Raigo Aasmaa
Raigo Aasmaa

Like Carmen-Elina Vist, OlyBet Team Pro Raigo Aasmaa also had a short day. He three-bet jammed about 12 big blinds from the small blind and got called by the opening raiser Peter Jaksland.

Aasmaa turned over {k-Spades}{j-Hearts} and it was off to the races after Jaksland turned over {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}.

The {a-Spades}{2-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{10-Spades} board ran all blanks for Aasmaa and he was eliminated short of the money.

Eliminations are taking place at a fast and furious pace. Also out of the tournament are Jari Mikka Mähönen, Vasilijus Piskunovas, Mike Hansen, and Toomas Polli.

Adamson Eliminates Mulder

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Teun Hernar Mulder
Teun Hernar Mulder

Just before the break, a player opened to 20,000 and Teun Hernar Mulder flatted. Julian Adamson raised to 68,000 and the original raiser folded.

Mulder then jammed for 270,000 and Adamson called.

Mulder turned over {8-}{8-} and the {j-}{6-}{2-}{5-}{5-} board was unable to help him against the {q-}{q-} held by Adamson.

Adamson had the chip lead entering the break with 830,000. Just behind him at the break are Vladimir Bednar with 720,000 and Janar Kokk with 660,000.

The action is now on the bubble with 35 players remaining and 34 getting paid at least €2,740.

Lipp Bubbles on a Bad Beat

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Jarko Lipp
Jarko Lipp

The bubble took exactly one hand. Peter Pihlstrom jammed the button for 102,000 and Jarko Lipp, who coincidentally had the same amount of chips, called.

Hands were played out on other tables and a crowd formed with everyone understanding this hand was likely to break the bubble one way or another.

It wasn't looking good for Pihlstrom after he turned over {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and Lipp turned over {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}.

However, tides quickly changed for Pihlstrom after he nailed a set on the {5-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop. The {2-Clubs} on the turn and the {7-Diamonds} on the river were unable to save Lipp and he was eliminated on the bubble.

Meanwhile, Pihlstrom and the other 33 remaining players are all guaranteed a payout of at least €2,740.

Pietila Knocks Out Saviaho With a Full House

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Venue
Venue

Kristian Matias Zitting was down to just 10 big blinds when he jammed from the hijack. Leo Tapani Pietila three-bet shoved for 336,000 from the button.

Jari Saviaho tanked for several minutes before Zitting called the clock. The tournament staff asked the dealer about the hand during which time Saviaho said he needed two minutes. The tournament staff told Saviaho to take his time and he folded a minute later.

Zitting turned over {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts} and was in a bit of trouble against Pietila's {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}.

Zitting began to stand up after the {5-Spades}{q-Hearts}{q-Clubs} came on the flop and turned his back on the table after he was drawing dead once the {k-Hearts} came on the turn to give his opponent a full house. Zitting did wind up with a flush after the {6-Hearts} completed the board on the river but this was not enough to save him.

Simulask, Rusnak, and Urnikis Eliminated

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Kings of Tallinn
Kings of Tallinn

Three players were quickly eliminated on separate tables at almost the same time.

First to go was Silver Simulask in 27th place who jammed {a-}{j-} for 170,000 unsuccessfully against his opponent's {a-}{k-}. Vladislav Rusnak was next to go in 26th place.

Edvinas Urnikis was the final of the trio to hit the rail. He jammed 160,000 from the button with {a-Hearts}{10-Spades} and was called by Leo Tapani Pietila with {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}. Urnikas started to get up when the {5-Clubs}{9-Spades}{3-Clubs} gave his opponent a flush draw. Pietila won the hand and was up to 1,000,000 in chips after the {6-Spades} came on the turn and the {7-Diamonds} completed the board on the river.

A pay jump also took place with the remaining 24 players guaranteed a payout of €2,950.

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Paulius Jucys
Paulius Jucys

Paulius Jucys jammed from the button for 110,000 and was called by OlyBet Team Pro Dmitrijs Meless from the big blind.

Jucys turned over {a-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and was outmatched by the {a-Spades}{q-Clubs} held by Meless.

"Good game," same Meless after he paired the {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} flop.

Jucys was drawing dead after the {5-Diamonds} came on the turn and was officially eliminated in 24th place for €2,950 after the {6-Spades} completed the board on the river.

Tenno Eliminates OlyBet Team Pro Meless

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Dmitrijs Meless
Dmitrijs Meless

Dmitrijs Meless just joined the rest of the OlyBet Team Pros on the rail.

Meless jammed for 165,000 from early position before Kaupo Tenno jammed over the top for 275,000 from the cutoff. The rest of the table folded and Meless sighed after he turned over {8-Hearts}{8-Spades} and saw Tenno turn over {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}.

The duo remained calmly in their seats throughout the hand. The {2-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{3-Diamonds} ran out on the board and Meless was eliminated in 22nd place for €2,950.

Mortensen Out in Two Hands

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Morten Mortensen
Morten Mortensen

About 30 minutes ago on the televised feature table, Andrejs Punka opened to 30,000 from the button. Morten Mortensen three-bet to 78,000 from the small blind before Punka four-bet jammed for 365,000.

Mortensen called and it looked like he was in good shape to win a decent pot after he turned over {k-Hearts}{k-Spades} and his opponent turned over {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}.

Tides quickly changed after Punka hit top pair on the {a-Spades}{5-Spades}{3-Spades} flop. Mortensen was unable to get back into the hand with the {10-Diamonds} appearing on the turn followed by the {7-Diamonds} on the river.

The next hand, Peter Pihlstrom opened up to 28,000 with {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} from late position before Mortensen got the rest of his 58,000 chip stack in the middle. Pihlstrom called and it was off to the races again.

Peter Pihlstrom: {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}
Morten Mortensen: {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

Mortensen was unable to hit any of the {3-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} board and was eliminated in 20th place.
